Clearly one of those awful late '70s / early '80s V8 era Aston-Martin Volante convertibles. Dreadful, heavy, slow and unsporting poseur cars……..If I'm wrong I've really embarrassed myself with this tirade, and I apologize to anyone who actually likes these cars.

Correct, I picked this one as it is not easily reckognisable as an Aston that usually has rounder forms. the second car is the closed version. From this perspective it more looks like a muscle car from the US (which is not generally a bad thing).

:D one of five existing out of the fifties - seen in Recklinghausen Germany

I recall the Brütsch Mopetta as the smallest car on Earth for a long time, but wasn´t quite sure if it ever was "fully street legal". Knew it as a museums car since my youth.

Can you recall the license plate it carried? For "temporary use"?

Stuart,

Is it front wheel drive as it looks? If it is, other than a Cord, which I am fairly sure it isn’t, the only other ones I can think of are Gardner and Ruxton.
