Advertisement Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rona!d Posted December 31, 2013 Share #5942 Posted December 31, 2013 Jensen? Not a Jensen. As a convertible even more exotic than a Jensen, as a Coupe or Limousine by far not. V6 engine and the models name dates back to 1939.
Rona!d Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5943 Posted January 2, 2014 Another hint: This car had different names in different markets and is based on a mass production car.

wlaidlaw Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5945 Posted January 2, 2014 If it is of 70’s/80’s vintage which I am guessing from the wheels, other than Italian home market taxation specials, the only European 2L V6 engine was the Ford Cologne V6. It must be a low production special body using this engine but the chassis???? Wilson
Rona!d Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5946 Posted January 2, 2014 Ford engine is right, now name the model!

wlaidlaw Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5948 Posted January 2, 2014 I was going to say a 20 MTS Taunus. Wilson
stuny Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5949 Posted January 2, 2014 In the US, Mercury Capri.
Rona!d Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5950 Posted January 2, 2014 Taunus TC Fun Cabrio or Sunshine Cortina? Taunus TC is close enough. Your turn! Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! p.s. I even remember some weird Ford (Euro) Capri Cabrios. Oh dear. Rona!d Posted January 2, 2014 Share #5951 Posted January 2, 2014 In the US, Mercury Capri. Stu, I thought the Mercury Capri was based on the Euro-Capri, not on the Taunus/Cortina?
stuny Posted January 3, 2014 Share #5952 Posted January 3, 2014 Rona|d - I think you're right. for a US "sourced" car of its era it was rather nice.

Rona!d Posted January 5, 2014 Share #5954 Posted January 5, 2014 Sent him a PM too. If no new photo within the next 8 hrs, I think somebody else should jump in because he seems to be a new member (1 posting) and maybe not aware of the games rules. wlaidlaw Posted January 6, 2014 Share #5956 Posted January 6, 2014 Here is on the face of it an ordinary car. It was the last of its line and actually very innovative. When I was young, I rather fancied having one of these. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! a.j.z Posted January 6, 2014 Share #5957 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) I have seen this one, but I do not remember the manufacturer. French, from the 60s? Edited January 6, 2014 by a.j.z
wlaidlaw Posted January 6, 2014 Share #5958 Posted January 6, 2014 Yes French. Wilson
Rona!d Posted January 6, 2014 Share #5959 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) This one is nice. Never saw one in daily traffic, outside classic car meetings or garages. The covered front beams helped Citroen to make their DS nicer (they were running out of cash in those years, so had to use what they could find in the design genes of the company they acquiered). wlaidlaw Posted January 6, 2014 Share #5960 Posted January 6, 2014 I tried to persuade my father to buy one of these for my mother in 1964. He bought her an awful Renault Caravelle coupe instead, that might have had the worst gear change in the world. Wilson
