There was another US company of that era with an even lower body called American Underslung, which had the body's center of gravity below the axels, aiding handling. Of course it needed huge wheels to give it suitable ground clearance.

No - Not AF nor Reo. some consider this to be the first US sportscar.

Weather was worse than expected so I couldn´t snap the car I wished to.

This is a nice little car from my private stable. Still drives well and competitive, unfortunately not much in use.

Please name maker and model, extra points for further details like race history.

Maker = Either Shuco or Dinky?

None of them. But you are right, Wilson. It´s a scale model which can be raced on my big scale slot racing track. Please name the maker and the model of the original car (assume you or at least your brother have one of them in your garage).

Ronald,

I am going to guess because of the rivets that it is a D type They should be flush - Malcolm Sayer would not approve of the raised rivets! The Ecurie Ecosse D Type did not sell at the R&M auction in September, as it failed to reach the reserve but is under negotiation at the moment. It is the first long nose one and was the factory experimental car on which all sorts of things were tried including fuel injection.

No, not the GT40.

Mmmhhh... I'd like to make my guess, but in case I'm right, I'd have the usual problem (no "owned" pictures of cars... So let's keep it in form of questions, so if I'm right, then my guess will become a hint for someone else.

The car I was thinking of was known for a peculiar chassis.
