wlaidlaw Posted September 20, 2013 Share #5524 Posted September 20, 2013 Is the model with the petrol generator? If only they had put a decent sized, say 25L, fuel tank in this car, my wife would have considered it for a replacement for her Ford CC-3, which has reached 50,000 miles but at 9L and a 200-250km range, the i3's tank is too small. She regularly has to go up to meetings near Silverstone and it would not do that on one fill - very silly move on BMW's part. I am having great difficulty dissuading her from buying a dreadful Lexus CT200. If she insists on "going green" an ex-demo Vauxhaul/Opel Ampera/Chevrolet Volt is a much better car. Rona!d Posted September 20, 2013 Share #5525 Posted September 20, 2013 Wilson, I agree with you about the range expanders tank size. On the other hand this is the first REAL "standard" car of all the electric vehicles I have ever driven. To me this feels much better than the i-MiEV/C-Zero/iON which I also liked in city traffic but which ran out of production in 2012 because of low sales output. BMW has a very hard marketing nut here. They have to get people into a testdrive, by telling them it´s a "normal" car and no experimental greenie vehicle. GOOD way, but hard. I really like it btw. Rona!d Posted September 21, 2013 Share #5526 Posted September 21, 2013 Wilson, it´s your turn. If you don´t have one, I´d suggest, you give it free to "Andi_77" who was on the BMW i-path with the i8.

Andi_77 Posted September 22, 2013 Share #5528 Posted September 22, 2013 Oh OK thanks a lot Here is the first picture. Unfortunately I don't have "personal" pictures of cars, so I had to Google this one. Hopefully the resolution is decent enough. Welcome, dear visitor! a.j.z Posted September 22, 2013 Share #5531 Posted September 22, 2013 I understand that several French manufacturers used Jaeger instruments. Renault?
Andi_77 Posted September 22, 2013 Share #5532 Posted September 22, 2013 It's not French - despite the fact that some gauges are in French. But you should not go too far from France
Rona!d Posted September 22, 2013 Share #5533 Posted September 22, 2013 Could be one of the little 1950s italian devils like Moretti (maybe 750), Stanguellini etc..

wlaidlaw Posted September 23, 2013 Share #5537 Posted September 23, 2013 They are incredibly sexy looking cars and unlike you might expect, don't have a tuned Fiat 1100D engine under the bonnet but a proper Fiat Otto Vù V8. Great choice Andi. Wilson
Rona!d Posted September 23, 2013 Share #5538 Posted September 23, 2013 Agree with Wilson, wonderful car with stunning iconic design and great engine. I won´t find a similar nice one this evening
