The bullet holes are visible in the quarter light and rear side window. The current owner told me that shortly after purchase he found the bullets inside the car. The vehicle is deliberately maintained in original 'as purchased' condition. Please examine the photos and advise the make, model and year. Welcome, dear visitor! When a bullet goes through glass, you get lots of cracking and starring due to shock wave propagation. About 25 years ago, a group of us Lloyds Underwriters went round the British Standards Institute Laboratory. One of the tests they put on for our eduction and amusement was the various grades of bullet proof glass (shotgun, pistol and rifle proof). I can visualise the extensive cracking radiating out from the holes in the glass that did not pass the tests - very far from a neat hole. Wilson I have my doubts too regarding their authenticity - also have my doubts about the car's 'hotel courtesy car' provenance because of the actual model year. Such a sales blurb could put a few $'000 on the price - and bullets could have fired into the seats It's a good yarn and visitors to the classic car show were intrigued. However, the car owner is very proud of his acquisition - for which he allegedly paid £8500. I have a photo of the owner's hand written description as displayed on the car; it purports that the car was used by Elvis and the 'rat pack' ... but when the car's make and model year are considered with the year the hotel was built ... In order of driving: Ferrari 330 GTS (Steering too slow and heavy 4.6 turns lock to lock for a turning circle bigger than a London bus. We would have arms like corkscrews by the top of the 30 hairpin bends of the Maloja Pass) Porsche 911 2.7RS lightweight (my favourite and it screams take me to an Alpine pass but my brother wants to take an open car) Ferrari 275GTB/4 NART Spyder (better than the contemporary 330 GTS but still a tourer not a sports car for hairpin bends) Eagle Sportster E-Type (fantastic car but it's LHD and I cannot get in and out of the passenger side with the roof up because my right knee and ankle don't bend enough) Eagle XK140 Roadster (lovely car with retro fitted power steering and modern brakes but in September in the Alps it is going to be raining at some time. It takes a masters in engineering to get the hood up and it is about as effective as a paper parasol when you finally have got it up and stuck plasters over the damage to your fingers from the vicious hood irons) Dino 246GT Spyder (lovely car and probably our choice. Like all Dino's it misfires on left hand bends due to fuel slosh in the carbs, particularly hairpins. However we have found a Ferrari specialist in Geneva who apparently has a cure for this by putting in a weir type fuel flow and overflow return to tank system. It supposedly only takes a morning to fit. So I am going to take it to Geneva to have this done and then on to Montreux for the start of the rally. I did also have a ride in today's mystery car.
