This car is under charity here.

We use it for some transport jobs and as one of the T-cars.

17 years but just 120.000 km. Had been replaced by a 1-series seven years ago, but we cannot give it away.

Still prefer it over the 1-series because of not kocking my knee when boarding and because of it´s good view outside.

Having the big roof + AC + loading space + road handling + good parking in the city makes it #1 over SUVs, smarts etc.

Somehow I think this was the modern 2002 Touring which they never really replaced.

Ronald,

Daytona Violet colour? That was the colour I had my Hartge E34 3.8L M5 in.

I will search my images for something a bit easier than the Crouch 12/24.

Wilson, this is Violett Red (Violettrot). It´s pretty dark under cloudy skies, only brighter in sunlight. Not metallic like most expect. Like your Daytona Violet a rare color.

Let's start with European?

Yes European and sorry about the quality of the photo but it is a very small crop from quite a lot larger photo. This was one of our team cars in the 2009 Coupe des Alpes.

Here is the whole team photo. 1955 Lancia Aurelia B24 America Spyder with Nardi tuned engine, 1965 AC Cobra 289 Mk.2, and 1966 4.2L Eagle E-Type. I was co-driving the Cobra and I was deaf for about three days after the end of the rally. We were using an early type of intercom, without noise reduction, which seemed to pick up the exhaust beat coming out under the door pipe exits. There was supposed to be some silencing but you would not know it. The Aurelia is a lovely car and downhill, even in the Cobra, it was hard work to keep up with it and it was on original type Michelin X tyres.

Wilson you are too fast with posting the whole picture, I haven´t name the color code :D I just wanted to help others to find out it´s an Aurelia (man one of my favourite cars ever - different color though ;)). Even the coupes went up so quick I couldn´t get one for rallyes anymore. What a nice trio there and yes I´d take the Lancia although the E-Type looks appealing as well. So far never really got connected to Cobras. What a pity.

Ronald,

You will have to try an original mid 60's Mk2 289 Cobra. The successors were all much heavier and nothing like as pleasant. I was driving a new 6 litre Roush Engined South African built carbon fibre AC a couple of years ago and compared with that 1965 one, it was horrible. 99.9% of the copies are worse. The originals are a delight to drive. They are light, have benign handling, good brakes and sound wonderful. Considering that they use MGB steering, you would be amazed how light and accurate it is. Of all 1960's sports cars, I think there is only one better to drive and that is the 250GTO but they are a bit more expensive.:):) The only problem is the clunky Ford "Rock Crusher" gearbox and nearly everyone has changed them for either a GM or Getrag five speed box.

Right, Stefan. That´s a Renault 4 "Plein Air" made between 1968 - 1971. My crop was too generous? :)
