Seeing everyone will have had a long tiring working week (except of course, retired folks like me), here is a nice easy one for the week-end. I don't just want the make and model but the coachbuilder as well.

Andreas,

Correct. The least pretty of the three Flaminia Coupés IMHO. The Zagato is prettier but the Touring is gorgeous. I looked at a number of them about 4 years ago to buy as a rally car but, as they had been worth very little in the 1980's and 1990's, the restoration work had been horrible and probably irretrievable.

Here is the full photo. That is my RSR behind. Stopped for a picnic lunch on the descent from the Col de la Bonnette on the 2010 Coupe des Alpes. The pair of Lancia enthusiasts from Hong Kong we had lunch with, had bought this Flaminia specially for the rally.

Wilson,

seems that you have some entertainment during your retirement!

What about this little gem, one of the most famous of its breed, and very well maintained.

Cheers, Andreas

Sorry,

I should have confirmed that Ronald was correct. He and I had been having a private conversation off the forum. I think of it as the Pourtout 4¼ Bentley rather than the Embiricos but it is the same car. Here is the whole car:

Actually the car posted by Wilson in post #4240 is not the Embiricos Bentley. It is a Peterson car of modern vintage.

Bonhams 1793 : Bentley Petersen 6

Oops! Bloody fakers.

The original crop was the correct car, as it came from a black and white photo taken by my father in the 1950's, probably with his IIIA but it only showed a small bit of the back of the car. I therefore searched Google images for a better picture of the whole car.

Understandable mistake! Incidentally I've been told that Peterson has now made more Blower Bentleys than the factory did! :)

I always laugh when I hear someone has bought a "blower" Bentley. They are by some margin the least nice of all vintage Bentleys to drive. The Villiers blower is extremely heavy (it was designed for marine two stroke diesel engines) and all that weight in front of the axle makes the steering unpleasantly heavy with horrible understeer. The power delivery is not nice, virtually all of them overheat in traffic and are generally unreliable as well. A nice "big brake" 3 litre with a hot 4½ engine or a good Speed Six are a country mile better and just as fast.

...hrrmm, gentlemen, just to come back to our riddle car, still not an OSCA. Attached photo of second day of our riddle.

Maintaining the breed...maybe a rear view will be helpful?

Pete,

I thought of that as well but boot lid is a little square flat thing on those. It is almost more like the Bertone Spyder on the DB2-4 but again they all have a side light under the headlight. I am struggling. I was wondering about a Tojeiro Bristol (which eventually morphed into the ACE-Bristol) but I cannot remember what the rear looks like.
