The help was too good, I guess, but then the point is for somebody to make the correct guess and for us to be exposed to interesting vehicles. Harry Stutz (yes, that Stutz) was one of the two founders of American Underslung, which was in business between 1905 and 1913 when they went into receivership, though they were advertizing their 1914 models as the most luxurious cars in the US. The wheels were a bit over one meter in diameter, giving plenty of room to lower the body below the axels, and justifying the name of the company. For the time these 40 and 50 HP cars were the real sports cars, with far better handling than the competition. This and another model are at the Simeone Foundation Museum on the outskirts of Philadelphia where they have 60 or so roadracing cars of all vintages, and quite a collection of 6C and 8C Alfa models. It's worth visiting them, as well as to get on their mailing list for special events. On certain Weekends Dr. Simeone demonstrates a number of the cars, and currently they are dong a Best of Italy event, with Simeone cars and cars brought by other owners.

Your turn, Rona|d.

Stu, at least I thought of "America" in the brands name on first sight ;-) Because I knew it is NOT the ALF, that was a challenge to make.

Andreas,

because of the job, the boat project unfortunately slowed down to zero at the moment (a shame!) and this weekend I have to sand and paint not less than 8 doors. Garden took me some time too but this thread is a welcoming quick amusement when having a little rest at the computer. So I'm jealous and wish you lots of fun at the castle Dyke event. Even for OGP I may have just one day instead of the whole weekend, I normally go to the Nürburgring.

I'll post the next car this night.

Coming to something more modern, the maker would be fine, the model would be the cherry on the cake.

I had better deleted "Lexus Hybrid Drive" on the monitor :o

I think it was the 450, not 400 - but anyway a Lexus Hybrid SUV, so you got it!

Later, you always know better...;-)

Indeed, some photoshopping delivers very clearly the "Lexus Hybrid Drive", and from that it was only one small step to IAA 2007, where the RX400h (as some press texts said) has been presented first.

Please allow some minutes for the next riddle!

Cheers, Andreas

Here we are...you can see very clearly the main sponsor of my Leica equipment, my wife Dagmar, herself still photographing with one of the very first digital CANON IXUS (cost a fortune around 2000...).

To which car is she talking? Make and model, please.

One first hint: The car in the foreground and the one in the background, there is a connection...

Cheers, Andreas

Photo gear: Epson RD1 and Summicron C 40 and some magenta problems with the Epson as well....

Stuart,

1950is European is a good starting point, I have uncovered another piece of the picture. Ronald: Maybe the chrome trim is not matching the year of built, but nevertheless a question of taste...

Cheers, Andreas

Gerd got it - its a Mercedes 190SL.

A nice pair, the one which "needs some tender loving care, almost complete, some signs of use" beneath the fully resostored example.

Gerd, your trun!

Cheers, Andreas

If the unrestored one would be mine, I'd make it safe driving with a good hood but keep the complete patina, even some rust. Visiting highend SL events would be most fun. Imagine the faces of all those "beauty-doctors" :D

The trim line of the restored SL, oh well.

Andreas,

Didn't have a clue in the beginning but then in the second picture I saw the shape of the bonnet and thought it looked familiar.

Anyhow here is the next one, should not be too difficult to start in the right direction with this text on the radiator:
