Not a Marcos...I will give you more generous crop so you can enjoy the really beautiful bookeh of the Summilux - wonderful background, isn't it ;-)

Oops - must be the bookeh shot ;-

Bingo, Pete - MGC, framed last weekend at the Houten MG Spare Parts fair /Netherlands, the first MG Car Club Event of the year.

The power bulge is the distinctive design of the MGC - and especially the littel dome for the front carburretor is really enjoyable when you are the nut behind the wheel - its like watching a sort of mountain panorama ;-)

MGC was the "big brother" of MGB, but the little one was much more successful with around 500.000 built. MGC: 8.999 built (roadster and GT), exported to US 4.256.

With 145 horsepowers and a very smooth straight six cylinder engine, the MGC - especially as coupe (GT), was really a Gran Tourisme - with six appeal! I have owned one 20 years ago, and driven it around 50,000 km in one year - and is was a pleasure.

Why not sucessful? It was not ready when presented in 1967. But problems can be sorted out, and with todays knowledge, its a very nice car - but still a sleeping beauty.

So Pete: Its your turn!

Cheers, Andreas

I really should have known that one- I owned a "C" back in the early 70s, we managed to make it go round corners pretty well; mods to the front suspension, better tryes than those supplied and different pressures. The factory really ought to have sorted this out but politically it was killed off.

OK: this was taken using a D camera but not my D2, which was not with me on the day. Unfortunately it is with my D700, as thread-starter I'll crave your indulgence on this occasion.

I suspect that Ron will get this one straight off. ;)

Dear Pete,

just to make sure that you are not dissapointed because of getting no feedback: I am digging.

No chrome dngs, just a fuel tank cap - we are in the 80ies or later. This certain step in the boy - before mid 2005. Clear design, but not without design - Rover/Honda, noz Toyota?

My first guess.

Right now I am through with BMW, Volvo, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Audi, Jaguar, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Saab from 1960 to sysdate.

Volvo 740 and similar and BMW pre 2000 (7 series come close) have been my favourites, but could not find a match. Have digged through 30 plus websites with NEC Birmingham photos of 2010 - no match as well - but it is looking so damn familiar (but it is not an MG, have looked into my own garage as well).

Have been trough a handful of parking lots - no match.

Digging further and deeper, digging a real big hole in my spare time budget :-) - and it seems, I am the only one...

Cheers, Andreas

I see! And to make things worse, I was totally off track concerning "...this is the front " - because after this, I was looking for cars which front is looking like  (Healey Frogeye, Mini Moke, Citroen Cocinelle...).

If the next question again is related to NEC Birmingham, I have lots of bookmarks :)

It seems, that nobody wants to jump in? So I will. Because its weekend, and because I have had real difficulties with the last one, here is a quite easy crop, or a pair of crops, to make it even easier for you.

Only problem: our "family member living in the garage" (not my garage, so its not an MG!) needs some tender loving care...rusty, but far from frustration. This car was loved on both sides of the pond when new.

Its not a prototype, but netherless you have to do a full restoration in your mind to see the wonderful lines of a...ooopsy :-)

Have fun and enjoy!

Cheers, Andreas

PS: Photo gear - Leica M8.2 with VC Nokton 1.4/40

PPS: The SAAB museum (biggest SAAB collection in the world) will for sale on Monday, one car after the other - the whole collection will be spread all over the world, its a pity, isn't it?

PPPS: Have deleted my NEC Birmingham links by accident, so I can't tell you, if our...humdidu... has been there...
