wlaidlaw Posted October 15, 2024 Share #22692 Posted October 15, 2024 When I had racing cars and daughter's horses to transport in trailers, I had a Daihatsu Fourtrack. It was excellent and 100% reliable in total contrast to the Nissan Patrol we had before. We bought that in the mistaken belief that we would get the famed Japanese reliability. What we did not know was that it was made in the Land Rover Santana plant in Spain. The only bits which did not break were those which fell off first. Graham (G4FUJ) Posted October 15, 2024 Share #22693 Posted October 15, 2024 I ran a Fourtrak for about 8 months while my 90 was in for it's major chassis up rebuild. Good working vehicle. Probably should have kept it, the 2.8 litre diesel was a superb engine (for an oil burner).

Ivan Goriup Posted October 15, 2024 Share #22697 Posted October 15, 2024 In the 1930s Peugeot built a series of sporty Cabriolets / roadsters that were distinguished by a series of round chrome ornaments ( some had three, others had more ) in the vertical hood panels - could this be one of those ? wlaidlaw Posted October 15, 2024 Share #22699 Posted October 15, 2024 I know the answer but will leave it to Ivan, since he got Peugeot. There was one of them on a one day rally I did a few years ago. Wilson

Thank you, Stuart, I wish I could keep going, but the embarrassing truth is that I don't know very much about these cars except that it looked like a few of the Peugeots which I would occasionally see at Pebble Beach. To the best of my recollection, and from what little I know about Peugeot history, there was an independent businessman in France, I think his name was Emil Del'Mar -or something like that - who had started a small company modifying Peugeots, and which was eventually absorbed by Peugeot, who during a couple of years before the war created various sporty two-seaters based entirely on Peugeots, including some which were specifically intended to be raced at Le Mans. Your cropped photo looks like one of those cars. The other 'problem' at the moment is that we just started a major remodel / reconstruction on our home which will pretty much occupy me full time, so even if you feel that the above has earned me the privilege of posting the next puzzle car, I am forced to relinquish my turn......hope you understand.
