I'm genuinely surprised none of the English contingent have guessed this one yet.......I'm quite sure it's a (1949 - 1954) Jowett Javelin Jupiter. For some inexplicable reason my father really lusted after one of these when they were introduced, but decided against it after he drove one.

Being new to this Forum I am not aware of the requirements for posting a photograph.  I tried but my attempt was rejected.

Can someone tell me the technical requirements for photographs to be posted please?

PS  It is a pity Jowett did not put the Jupiter by Stabilimenti Farina in to production.  It predates the celebrated Aurelia coupé .

You obviously missed my earlier comment about Yorkshire (the Jowett was made in Bradford). I knew what the vehicle was but as I have nothing currently to post, refrained from saying to allow others to have a go. I loved Dunk's response: 'appen, which is classic Yorkshire.

I first came across the Jowett Jupiter back in the days when I had a couple of air-cooled cars and used to frequent various festivals dedicated to this type of vehicle. I absolutely LOVED the styling of the Jupiter - all swoopy curves everywhere - but was less enthusiastic about that of the Javelin.

Their owners were unfailingly a happy, friendly bunch and keen to share their experiences of driving the things. No-one ever seemed to mention any faults with their cars which I took to be more a sign of loyalty than 'The Truth of the Matter'...

The wheels look like might be Alfa-Romeo, the taillight reminds me of a 1960ish A-R Sprint coupe........but then there's that 'trunk' shutline.

Getting close.  The bubble wrap is not relevant.  Currently covered while the mechanicals are being rebuilt.

Sorry, indeepthought, but I believe the car shown is a GTV Tipo 105 - the 106 was a larger, longer wheelbase model.

Lovely car, Perkin. Hope you enjoy it for a long time after you get if finished and on the road. Wonderful cars, Alfas of that period  I had 4 GTVs , including a GTA.

If I'm correct & get the next turn, I have to relinquish my turn to whoever has something interesting to post as I'm leaving very early in the AM for the season's first serious fly-fishing trip.
