dkCambridgeshire Posted 16 hours ago Share #24022 Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Just researched a little more and some later export versions of this car were fitted with Rover and Perkins engines – but the original aluminium 2.5L (ish) OHV engine for this model was designed / manufactured in its country of origin. Yes, the "look" = 'Wyvern / early Cresta - ish ..... but incorrect. More Ford influenced than GM, however, it's an original country of origin design. Export models fitted with Perkins and Rover diesel engines used as taxis – and engines fitted 'abroad'. Current owner was unexpectedly offered this example by the o/seas restoration co. (a thriving business which satisfies the strong demand for this model) after the intended customer went awol. This is the third generation of the original model. Total production c. 640K Ten seat mini-bus and ambulance versions available. A special 100mph + version with a 5.53L V8 engine was also offered but only 603 examples manufactured.
