Advertisement Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Hi pippy, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Graham (G4FUJ) Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22862 Posted November 27, 2024 Looks Peugeot? Not sure of model, even with Wilson's hint (and I have nothing to post (will have to find my ancient image editing software, if it will run on later OS).
pippy Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22863 Posted November 27, 2024 Getting Warmer! Taken along with the other two this crop will (probably) be enough to pinpoint matters; Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22864 Posted November 27, 2024 Before this latest crop I was thinking PF design, and probably the FIAT Dino Spyder, but I don't understand the "Yankee Doodle Dandy" reference.

Ah! Sorry if there has been a modicum of confusion! The phrase you mention, Stuart, came up in regard to the previous 'Puzzle Car' therefore nothing to do with the current car. In post 22855 I wrote; "...I believe it to be a Lamborghini Huracán of some flavour......For some strange reason the second couplet from the first verse of 'Elected' by Alice Cooper is running through my head as I type..." (n.b. my stress here) Andreas subsequently picked-up the baton and replied with; "...an Evo (so no „golden Rolls Royce..." Finally I responded with; "...but it does appear to be somewhat Yankee-Doodle-Dandy!..." The song concerns the desperate wish of some unnamed megalomaniac to become President of the USA and opens with the lines; "I'm your top prime cut of meat, I'm your choice I wanna be elected I'm your yankee doodle dandy in a gold Rolls Royce I wanna be elected". Considering it was penned over fifty years ago it has proved to be strangely prophetic... Back To Business! Yes; obviously (now!) a Pininfarina design. Not, however, a Dino of any sort. This crop should put things beyond all doubt; Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Philip. stuny Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22866 Posted November 27, 2024 Graham could be on to something - a 504 Cabriolet?

Indeed it could be, Stuart! The 504 was introduced in 1968 and the Cabrio version came out the following year. It remained in production until 1983 with over 3 million examples of all types being made. I have absolutely no hard evidence which would pin-down the correct year for this one which was snapped at the same time as the Renault posted a few cars ago. Along wih the Coupé version - also a Pinin design - these must be (IMO) amongst the most attractive Peugeots ever released (I happen to prefer the Coupé). 3/4 frontal to finish up; Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22869 Posted November 27, 2024 Thank you. Let's try this one. I had to Google it to find out what it is. It's not a production car, but made for a movie. stuny Posted November 27, 2024 Share #22872 Posted November 27, 2024 Not the Jetsons. The Jetsons was a cartoon from the same people who did the Flintstones and Yogi Bear. This is from a live, human film.

NigelG Posted November 28, 2024 Share #22875 Posted November 28, 2024 Stu - did we not have this one before? (not a criticism I have no new shots) I remember being more interested in the car behind…(was it from Space 1999?)
NigelG Posted November 28, 2024 Share #22876 Posted November 28, 2024 The subject car is from Woody Allen’s “Sleeper” …but maybe we can flip to the car behind which is possibly more obscure (unless I guessed right!!)

stuny Posted November 29, 2024 Share #22878 Posted November 29, 2024 Nigel is correct -It is from Sleeper, and in a New Zealand colection. Your turn. Welcome, dear visitor! NigelG Posted November 29, 2024 Share #22879 Posted November 29, 2024 As per #22876 - can we identify the vehicle behind the “Sleeper” car in Stu’s shot?
stuny Posted November 29, 2024 Share #22880 Posted November 29, 2024 I agree with Wilson that it is a first generation Civiv, which puts it at about 1971
