There is one of these being raced in historic GT races but probably a recreation rather than an original car. They are one of the noisiest cars ever made. I remember at school watching them leading Le Mans on BBC TV's short snippets in black and white, with Raymond Baxter commentating. The Birdcages are lovely cars to drive with very balanced handling and really good brakes in contrast to our Maserati 250S, which had pretty poor drum brakes. The 3 litre 4 cylinder engine is very coarse but has a great deal of torque. The 2 litre is far sweeter.

Open to all as usual.

I think it may have been Sean Danagher in Newmarket, Cambs who recreated a 151. He has retired now but he used to look after our Maserati 6CM GP car and was the top historic Maserati man in the UK. He used to race his own 1934 8CM Maserati GP car a very fierce car indeed which in period could nearly keep up with the Silver Arrows. A lot of these Historic Maseratis have been developed way beyond their abilities in period. For example the 6CM in period was producing around 175 BHP. When we last used ours in 2011, it was making 250 BHP from its supercharged 1.5L DOHC straight six, running on methanol. The 250F 1950's F1 cars in period were making around 245 BHP but now make well over 300.

The link is less obvious and has to do with the owner of the brand. No Ferrari despite the red paint.
Another crop:

An early De Tomaso Panthera

Ecxellent. A de Tomaso Pantera from 1972. Your turn!

The mentioned link to Maserati is that Alejandro de Tomaso briefly owned Maserati.

The design was from Ghia.

Nice clean lines on early models, as with the Countach. Later the Pantera got more muscle..

I'm not at home but found this in my iPad from contact sheets, so not much resolution.

Perhaps to easy?

Bugatti EB110?

Yes, the only italian Bugatti (?), below four negatives from the same roll.

Two of the cars was mine, and two was what I dreamt of...

The Bugatti was shown together with Lotus cars at the Stockholm car show.

If I remember correctly the owner of Lotus cars was involved in the Bugatti project close to Modena. Not a success but a brutal looking car.
