Wow! Well spotted indeed! It is, as you say, the recreation of the Lancia-Ferrari. I'm not so sure that none still exist however. According to this article : "Six cars had been created, but when the program was canceled, many of the cars were destroyed. Only two were spared. They currently reside in Italian museums"... https://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z13757/lancia-d50.aspx Snapped here in the paddock at the 2002 'Revival'. I believe it's different nowadays but back then it was members-only who had such close-quarters access and only then if they were 'properly dressed' in period-appropriate attire. Acccordingly I had my 1960 M2 c/w 35mm Summaron and had a great time! A couple of full-image pics; Welcome, dear visitor! ramarren Posted March 16, 2024 Share #21402 Posted March 16, 2024 ... digression: returning to normal ... I'm feeling pretty good again, finally, after the car hit from Oct 14, 2023. New shoulder working pretty well, leg wounds virtually all healed up, walking and working almost normal again. I've spent the past two weeks with my acupressure therapist in New Jersey which has ironed out most of the difficult details. One more surgery to go (fix the hernia mesh that was ruined in the accident) and then just exercise and get back to 100%. On the subject of Lancias, my '67 Fulvia Coupé is running very nicely now. It's up for three upgrades this year: switch out the ancient generator for more modern alternator/electric cooling fan (much more efficient charging and more wattage), fit a new Abarth exhaust system (original system has developed a hole and crack in the main muffler), and outfit the front end with the Fanalone headlight arrangement (purely for style and looks really... ;)). Parts for the alternator/cooling fan update are already in, waiting on the Abarth exhaust and Fanalone headlight pieces to arrive. 'Twill be very nice; I think that will call it Done unless I get some other wild hare notions into my head.... AND ... Looking forward to making photos again and getting back on my bicycle. I have a week between when I get back home to when the surgery happens, I will likely take the bike out for a couple of short reacqaintance rides in that time. And maybe take out the Leica or 'Blad, make a few new photos of the Fulvia too. Now back to car photos. Thank you, and my apologies for the digression. G Welcome, dear visitor! Ivan Goriup Posted March 16, 2024 Share #21403 Posted March 16, 2024 If indeed I identified the D50 correctly it's mainly due to the lines running from the area of the side-mounted fuel tanks into the body, but I erroneously referred to them as fuel lines....and they're not. The magnificent Jano-designed V8 engine was a dry sump engine and required an external oil tank, mounted behind the driver, and two small oil-coolers between the main body work and the external fuel tanks where there was some relatively quiet air. The lines I saw are actually the low-pressure oil return lines to the oil reservoir. I'm having difficulty reducing my images for the next car I was going to post to a size & format the forum will accept, and will have to take my computer to the shop for some help. Consequently, I'm relinquishing my turn....whoever has something interesting to post - Please have at it. JZG
stuny Posted March 18, 2024 Share #21404 Posted March 18, 2024 I'm sad we don't get to see Ivan's latest entry - he seems to have captured so many more special, interesting cars than i can ever hope to. In his place, let's try this one, but a bit different. What movie was this Lexus LC500 used in? Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted March 19, 2024 Share #21405 Posted March 19, 2024 Nothing? How about a hint or two: 1. the film and car are of the same vintage. 2. The producers for film's sequel also had a deal with Lexus and used an SUV in the sequel.

How about a hint or two: The only guess I could make is that judging by the state of the car the chances of my having seen the film are rather small......😸...... I will be interested to discover the title, though, just out of curiosity; I have been known to be wrong about such stuff in the past! Philip. OK; you had piqued my curiosity so I had a little Google. Nope; I wouldn't have been able to guess that film in a million years. Nor is there any possibility that I'll ever watch it; not my cup of tea at all. The last time I had any interest in watching a 'Marvel / DC Comics' style film it was when Michael Keaton played Batman to Kim Basinger's Catwoman.... If no-one guesses and no-one else has anything to post then I could put up another but, obviously, I'll give everyone more time to have a go at this one! Philip. Depends on what films you think I watch 🧐 - my last cinema trips were to “Oppenheimer”, “Saltburn”, “Poor Things” & “Zone of Interest”. Not sure I can think of a recent film I saw where a vehicle was especially memorable…except “Jackie” obvs.
NigelG Posted March 19, 2024 Share #21415 Posted March 19, 2024 Based on the scratches I would be thinking they were made by “Wolverine” (although for someone of my vintage I would have guessed “Freddy Krueger” if they had had LC500s back in the day. stuny Posted March 19, 2024 Share #21416 Posted March 19, 2024 Not Wolverine. The exceptionally talented star of this film died too young in real life.
a.j.z Posted March 19, 2024 Share #21417 Posted March 19, 2024 (edited) Batman (The Dark Knight - asuming that you refer to Heath Ledger)? Edit: Although there is a Dark Knight special Lexus model, I now think that you meant Chadwick Boseman and thus Black Panther. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/motoring/watch-chadwick-boseman-go-through-11957708 There apparantly is some co-operation between Lexus and Marvel. Brought a lovely mix of gravitas, humour and edginess to the character. Apologies for my massive 'brain-fart' moment where I mentioned Kim Basinger as Catwoman; I was, of course, thinking about the performance of Michelle Pfeiffer in that role...
