Whoever thought a 2 litre V10 engine was a good commercial idea should be shot. The 4 litre V20 is even sillier. If a well funded operation like the new TVR with a sensible engine plan (Cosworth modified Ford USA 5 litre V8) is struggling for viability, there is I believe, no hope at all for Connaught. Sad in a way as my father had a Connaught modified Citroen light 15 in the late 1940's but in reality that was another stupid idea, as the standard 1940s Citroen drive shafts were totally unable to cope with the 100 BHP of the Connaught modified engine. I believe the later Slough cars had strengthened Hooke joints (double back to back Hooke joints on the inner coupling and a smaller single joint on the outer coupling - the weak point) in the shafts and nowadays, you can buy replacement Light 15 drive shafts with Rpezza CV joints. Wilson (1) A lot of these are pipe/back of envelope dreams. (2) Backers with no grounding in reality. (3) Mega rich trying to stay mega rich by taking from other mega rich souls. 🍷
Advertisement Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Hi Indeepthought, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pippy Posted December 11, 2023 Share #21082 Posted December 11, 2023 Is the car an A-M of some sort? It sort-of reminds me of some recent Astons but (AFAIK!) there aren't nearly enough holes in the bonnet... Philip.
Indeepthought Posted December 12, 2023 Share #21083 Posted December 12, 2023 Possibly the Jaguar F SVR..
MattiasAndersson Posted December 12, 2023 Share #21084 Posted December 12, 2023 Aston is close on the market, as recent models of this car is stupidly expensive. But no Jag or A-M A last crop should make it a little easier Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted December 12, 2023 Share #21085 Posted December 12, 2023 With the portholes it has to be a Maserati. At a guess, the new MC20? Wilson
MattiasAndersson Posted December 12, 2023 Share #21086 Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) Very, very close, but not that Maserati, this is a 2011 model. From the crops this could be the standard model, extra bonus points for correct name of this special variant. The name include a legandary italian word... Legendary as it is a hint to the most beautyful car on the planet 🙂 Edited December 12, 2023 by MattiasAndersson

MattiasAndersson Posted December 12, 2023 Share #21089 Posted December 12, 2023 The 'real' racingcar had carbon fibre body, and weighed around 1400 kg, the Stradale had not. So more show than... Alfa 33 Stradale was something else...

Delighted to help, but I request immunity from being accused of senility, since a distinct possibility exists that I posted this little jewel before. I remember when seeing it I could not take my eyes off it and took a ton of shots. An exquisite restoration, done in England of course, the country that spawned and gave birth to this wondrous little machine. None of the shiny, over-the-top, ostentatious over-restoration so much in vogue these days on this side of the pond, especially to machines that are destined to show up on the lawn at Pebble Beach. Since this is a pure race car, it would be difficult to ask for 'the usual info', rather, I'll ask for the range of years it was competitive, the maker and distinguishing characteristics / features. Please take your time responding, since I'm sure we're all busy & a little pre-occupied with the upcoming holy days and not able to babysit our computers full time. JZG Welcome, dear visitor!
