Right, maybe naming a R-R model “cabriolet” would be too commonplace, almost banal, so R-R Phantom Drophead Coupe it is:

I think it may be a Pierce Arrow 1240 or 1250 from around 1933/35, as I think the later ones all had louvres in the sides of the hood. If it is a coachbuilt one as the body looks like that, it might be the 1933 Silver Arrow car.

Well done Wilson.  It is a Silver Arrow car from 1933.  Your turn.

Three still exist out of five made in total. Interesting spare wheel under the side of the front bonnet and it seems to be in danger of scratches when you fully open front and rear doors which are faced to each other. It looks much nicer from the side or rear than from the front end.

I think the Pierce-Arrow is a lovely looking car. How good they were to drive I just don't know. Some of these lovely looking "swoopy" coachbuilt 1930's cars are not much fun to drive, e.g. 540K Mercedes, Isotta Frascini 8S, Talbot Lago 150S, Duesenberg SJ, which is why most of them are seen creeping off trailers to a concours d'elegance lawn but little further.

Here is your next one. As ever, marque, model and approx year please.

You know it is a competition sports car and US made. You can deduce it is not a recent car from the "suicide" doors. How many US made competition sports cars are there to choose from - very few. I can only think of three.
