I will have a word with the MD of Bonhams Europe, who is a personal friend, next time I see him. They must be getting desperate including rubbish like that in their sale. I now really regret throwing away a Mobylette motorised bicycle, which had previously been the property of Roland Emett the cartoonist and mad machine inventor, who was a family friend. It might now be worth a couple of thousand :rolleyes:

Doubt familiar if you think it‘s british 😂

This is not necessarily a contradiction. The back of my head tells me that I have seen this before but does not give me any further clues 🙈. But good that you enjoy yourself 😉

The low grille and the arrangement of the lights are similar to some Auto Union models but it does not quite fit.

I was wondering if it was actually quite small and Japanese

Oddly enough I was wondering if it's actually something quite large and Czechoslovakian.

Tatra T97? Might be a T87; hard to tell if there's a third headlight out of crop.

Philip, well seen. I think this snap should be enough input to finalize it although it does not show the requested number of head beams.

So it is a T87 with the 3-part screen.

I've always loved the Tatras. Completetly bonkers, some of them - I mean; an air-cooled 2.9 litre rear-engined design in 1936? - but WAY ahead of their time in so many ways.

OK; assuming I'm correct I'll post this...let's see what we can all come up with! No huge hints at the outset just in case it's absolutely obvious to some folk;

I think you’re right - the “pod” of the headlight wasn’t visible on my phone screen so it looked like the car was very flat-fronted ...

T97 with its headlight ring clamped in the wrong place (usually aligned underneath). I’d forgotten how thin those bumpers appeared.

TRied to post this last night when you were wondering about the model number but it didn’t load. As an aside I’m not sure I’ve seen an example with a horn mounted on that side but there may be versions with paired horns for owners who (like I would have) disliked the asymmetric single horn on the LH side. A beauty.
