Judging by the utterly atrocious panel-gaps and woefully asymmetrical positioning of the bonnet scoops is it a British Leyland offering from the mid-1970's?........

:-k

A Ferrari? And what a design nightmare it is! "Experimental" maybe as a test how much torture customers would accept 🙃

Were have I been ten years ago? I was still testing new sportscars and went to racetracks all over the world from time to time but this one I must have ignored. It wins the price "car I didn´t know or forgot". Congratulations, Andreas!

(I was maybe expecting some sort of "tuned" japanese micro sportscar or an experimental lawn mower robot)

Not 612 based. As mentioned, the special thing is the engine.

Here is the full car.

I wait for Nigel before solving it as he was on the right track.

In the meantime I want to draw your attention to the car on the right ...

What happened to the 599 Hy-Kers? is that a battery cooling on the bonnet? Now I know it´s CAMOUFLAGED.

Yes, this is the one with the F1 KERS hybrid system as displayed in the Museo Ferrari (at least in 2013)

There is a special place in hell for anyone who would do that to a Ferrari. There is another 599 with twin superchargers, simply to burn up rear tyres quicker when drifting. I really don't get the obsession with turning rear tyres into foul smelling smoke. A lot the work I have done on racing and rally cars over the last 55 years, has been to minimise wheel spin, which equals power loss and inefficiency.

Sorry for the delay - yes the 599 HY-KERS was shown in 2010 without the bonnet scoops. I didn't recall it being such a horrid shade of green tho'.

The first matt finish car I saw was a pale yellow lamborghini Galliardo which I think was a factory/press show car at the model launch? My London neighbour has the latest Huracán in matt black and my opinion of the finish (horrid) hasn't changed....

Will find a challenge pic.

Based on the previous "panel gaps" and "design crimes" herewith the latest "Horror"
