Nigel,

I suspect the Prinz and TT cabriolets I can find pictures of were as you surmise, all third party coachbuilder conversions. There is one for sale in Italy at the moment at a very optimistic €13,000 asking price with the 3 cylinder 659/30 PS engine, so no ball of fire. Still when you see people asking and getting £12,000 or more for a resprayed 2CV, there are obviously people around with more money than sense.

I had a 2CV and sold it at the end of the 80s to a guy who collected 2 CVs and wanted one for his newborn daughter to give it to her as a present when she gets 18. He said that he will vacuum-pack it. Let's hope that she kept it.

I’ve seen a few decent “Prinzes” for sale in the last few years and find myself drawn to the very simple base models. Maybe it’s a touch of 70s nostalgia but I’d love one of the orange ones with the spartan black vinyl/cord carpet interiors...

It looks a bit like a Peugeot 304 convertible (apart from the rubber trim!).

Philip.

Not a 304 convertible which is larger. We had one when I was young, lovely car, color "jaune mais", "S" = 75 hp, had such a huge trunk for shopping wine in France and lot´s of camping gear. Sometimes I do miss it.

Hmm, the front end looks like a BMW 700 Cabriolet, but the rear end, and the taillights in particular do not quite match. May be this is a very early model of the BMW 700 Cabriolet?

Andy

Andy, that is close enough for me because your saw the difference between the role model and this one. It uses some BMW 700 parts, but this vehicle is something different though.

A BMW 600 EGB convertible. Never heard of it? Well, it´s not a works prototype or series car. A private custom made ex-crash BMW 600 chassis rebuilt with a self made convertible body in the 700 style but much smaller. 19,5 hp, 90 km/h. Built by Benedikt Schon in Germany. Only one exists. EGB = Eigenbau (self-made).

Here you get a side-by-side view with a "real" 700 cabrio.

Over to you!

Had the same issue connecting the front image to the rear one (Hey...what happened to the fins?) 🤔

That´s why I posted it 😎

Side by side the 600 EGB looks like a baby of a BMW 700 cabrio (with a flavour of later "02 new class" rear side shape) and a Glas 1204/1304 cabrio. Only the side strip is much to massive, nearly like the ugly one on the Victoria Spatz 250. "Bumper car" comes to my mind 😉

Wow, Ronald, that's a one-off special indeed! Never ever heard of that one before. May I ask you to carry on with another one, please? First, I did not quite guess it right anyway, and second I do not have an appropriate pic available right now (I need to prepare one for those winning occasions 🙂).

Cheers, Andy

OK people, here is your next one. As usual marque, model and approximate year please. Your first guess might be wrong!
