An HRG Aerodynamic from about '47 or '48?

I thought this one might be more difficult. It is indeed an HRG Aerodynamic 1500 car. The styling IMHO falls into the "interesting" category. The bodywork for these was made by Fox and Talbot of Tolworth in Surrey. Records of these have vanished and it is not known how many were made, as some might have been re-bodied standard cars but somewhere between 30 and 45 cars. Very few remain, maybe only four or five. I rebuilt one for a friend from a number of boxes of bits in the early 1970's but with a very pretty aerodynamic body, supposedly taken from a Stanguellini Sebring. He and I went out for the first test run. I apologised as I thought the suspension was seized solid because the ride was akin to a horse cart on iron shod wheels. "No" he replied: "That is what they are supposed to be like". The performance from the full race Singer OHC engine on 2 x 1½" S.U. carburettors (supposedly 75BHP) was reasonable, given the low weight but did not quite reflect the deafening racket made by the exhaust. Another interesting feature is that the Moss gearbox had a reversed gate. One of the best features was its very large drum brakes which with the low weight, were more than adequate.

That HRG is definitely not pretty, but certainly interesting, especially for its vintage.

Let's try this one - I've cloned out badging:

Not even any questions to narrow it down?  Here's an uncropped version with badges, bonnet ornament and museum card clones out:
