ramarren Posted March 6, 2016 Share #8426  Posted March 6, 2016 It looks similar to a late 1930s-early 1940s Humber Snipe or Ford Anglia, but I haven't found any with the front door detail and that grill yet. Interesting ...

dkCambridgeshire Posted March 6, 2016 Share #8428  Posted March 6, 2016 There were 4 door and 2 door versions but the military specification was 4 door.  dunk
Guest Posted March 7, 2016 Share #8429  Posted March 7, 2016 Puh. That´s really a hard one. Suicide doors, desert Camouflage & a camel - maybe pre-wwII. Maybe from a more oriental army. Most likely from an american manufacturer. Plymouth?

ramarren Posted March 7, 2016 Share #8432  Posted March 7, 2016 Closest match I can find is a 1937 Standard Flying 10 (or maybe 14) in military trim. Definitely a Standard from that time period...
dkCambridgeshire Posted March 7, 2016 Share #8433  Posted March 7, 2016 Correct … it's a Standard Flying 10 …  c.1938 … and this example is well known at UK military re-enactment events   Welcome, dear visitor! ramarren Posted March 7, 2016 Share #8434  Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) It's a lovely little beastie. I like the rearwards opening ("suicide") front doors a lot. I once had a car with those and found it a far nicer design for getting in and out of the vehicle... I'd love to see a return to that design as it makes much more sense than the current standard design, which requires more room in a parking space for the door to open for easy ingress and egress.  I guess I'll have to hunt up another challenge car ... Edited March 7, 2016 by ramarren
