John Z. Goriup Posted June 1, 2014 Share #6425 Posted June 1, 2014 There are some cars which were so far ahead of their time when introduced, so uniquely different from their contemporaries and so distinctively designed ( I absolutely despise the term "styled") that almost every little detail shown in isolation will instantly reveal the car in question. I believe the attached excerpt from a larger photo of this particular car is a good example. Since I only got into Leica digital M photography relatively recently, I haven't accumulated enough digital Leica images to delve into the less hackneyed and esoteric examples out there, but this shouldn't be too difficult. wlaidlaw Posted June 2, 2014 Share #6426 Posted June 2, 2014 It really was very advanced. There was an experimental model of this car, which ran in the 1940 Mille Miglia with fuel injection. Alfa Romeo was developing this for its aero engines. Wilson

John Z. Goriup Posted June 4, 2014 Share #6430 Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) Allright, I'll take a crack at it……….but with a twist. No need to identify the model, year or any other specific minutae, just tell us the name of the marque that carried this very distinctive hood ornament / radiator cap. JZG Welcome, dear visitor! John Z. Goriup Posted June 4, 2014 Share #6432 Posted June 4, 2014 Of course you're correct. So much for my clever attempt to stump the group with what I thought would be a real puzzle. Thanks for playing,………….you are up! JZG

a.j.z Posted June 5, 2014 Share #6436 Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) Thanks, this was a nice one, although one could discuss whether this counts as a car Maker and model as well as approximate year of construction of this one, please (bonus points for the second car): Welcome, dear visitor! maximilianm3 Posted June 5, 2014 Share #6437 Posted June 5, 2014 Sorry about not posting a picture, I don't have any : ( The car in question seems like a Bertone design, maybe Iso Rivolta. The second one is probaby an Aston Martin DBS.
a.j.z Posted June 5, 2014 Share #6438 Posted June 5, 2014 The guess regarding the second car is going in the right direction Here is another pic of the primary target Welcome, dear visitor! a.j.z Posted June 6, 2014 Share #6439 Posted June 6, 2014 Did not think that this would be difficult. The close-up in the first picture would look pretty much the same if you took a picture from car #2 from the same perspective (except for the color).
