I think a problem with your last image is that the side view of one heavily sponsored race car looks much like another. In most series for tintops, most are now “silhouette” cars anyway with a composite shell over a standard chassis for the series (NGTC = New Generation Touring Car, etc). Given that the same laws of aerodynamics apply to all, even the bodywork all ends up looking very similar. It is probably only the sponsorship and paintwork that allow most folks to identify which car is which.

 

However, maybe you are right and it is time to wind up this thread.

I hope not.

 

This is actually a standard, current production vehicle used on the street, but with advertising on it. the country of origin is suggested in the image. Here's a slightly broader view:

I recently saw a test made by a tv channel. They put three different modern compact cars beside each other and just obscured the logo. Almost nobody guessed right.
