Ernst,

Correct. This is real one, not one of the plastic copies that used to sit in Porsche Dealerships, although I did not recognise the original drivers' names (both German sounding). This was at a charity car show near Brighton UK last Sunday. There was a good representation from Zuffenhausen, with this 935, my RSR, a big wing 964 Turbo, a 2.7 lightweight, and a 964 RS. All displayed in an amazing huge 13th century barn.

You have an RSR? I have a distant relative, a 1974 2.7 Carrera (with the 11/83 MFI engine) which is currently being rebuilt from the ground up. I had a 964 RS for a while but it was quite unpleasant on the road, but great for track use.

Do you have any photos posted of your RSR?

Nice "barn find", Wilson. Wasn´t that the ex-Kannacher car (originally made in 1980) then crashed and rebuilt in 82 by dp for a swedish driver?

Hmmm, front decal "MARTINI PORSCHE" looks different though.

Ernst,

Mine started its life as a Penske Special - a 1977 S California Competition Lightweight. In effect a thin steel turbo body on a 3.0 RS floor pan. This was an edition, supposedly to use up some of the unsold 3.0 RS floor pans, given that Porsche only managed to sell 103 3.0 RS cars. I found it in a scrap yard in Sonoma in 2008, as an engineless abandoned race car. I am now using a big bore 3 litre block with a 3.3 turbo crank = 3.3L and all sorts of other nice bits in the engine, all held together with ARP bolts. I use gas-flowed Motronic fuel injection with a 911RS Netherlands DME computer. This car is mainly used for Alpine and mountain rallying, so I wanted lots of torque (345 Nm) as well as reasonable power (285 PS), allied to reasonable fuel consumption 11-12 L/100km while rallying. Here is it with me driving, on the 2010 Coupe des Alpes. It only weighs 985kg.

It looks good. It must be quite rapid. My Carrera has 220 BHP and weighs 970kg (It's stripped out for sprints/hilclimb use) so the extra 65 BHP in yours must make a big difference.

Mine below. (Yes, I know, it's a Targa...)

Come on, boys...I bet Wilson had this car on his shopping list, back in the late 60ies/early 70ies...

Here is a very generous crop!
