300 SLS Chuck Porter?

Congratulations, we have a winner (and it´s not Doc No:rolleyes:)!

SLS was not an "official works" name. Chuck Porter called it SLS. It was a crashed and rebuild SL Gullwing. Took Chuck Porter 5.000 hours!

Read the story here (mainly german language, but with an interesting english letter of Chuck Porters daughter).

das is ja nur was für spezialisten .......

very interesting car and story behind: Eine Seite

Olaf, that´s the homepage I also linked above ;) Indeed a car for specialists, but it was shown at so many events in the last decade, that someone easily could find out from the crops I´ve posted.

This car is road going and has an official german(!) road license plate, isn´t that amazing?

Dear Olaf,

"Only for specialized people..." well, thats the reason, we are underway in a Leica Rangefinder Forum...something special and quite different ;-)

In my opinion, the maker of every riddle should feel free to make the ramifications of his questions, maybe just the marque, the model, or maybe the special type. I really like it to go through my books and archives and the internet to solve the riddle, and very often I did not find out the special car asked for, but learned a lot about car design and technology, which satisfies me. Thats why I am in this thread involved.

And by the way, sometimes you se a googd car photo which helps you little bit to improve your own style of photography (which is - at least - the reason why I am here, to learn from others and to improve myself).

Just my two cents.

Cheers, Andreas
