Hm, looks a bit...obscure ;-)

And here is the next one, obscure in a different way: series production car (but low production number), and very special purpose, as the spare tyre demonstrates.

Make and model, please!

Cheers, Andreas

Ronald, you have got it - it is a Mercedes Benz G4. 72 cars had been built between 1933 to 1939. The car has three axles, two gearboxes and one 8-cylinder engine like the Mercedes 540K, but without supercharger.

Only 4 cars have survided the war, where most of them have been used by leaders of the Third Reich.

This special cars has been photographed in the "Auto und Technik Museum Sinsheim" (a good source for "name the car" puzzles, by the way...).

On the museums homepage http://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/en/mercedes-benz-g4 there are some more photos and a video with a G4 in action.

Cheers., Andreas

Rona|d -

Early to mid '50s, good chance from the UK based on the location of the speedometer, suggesting easy build for left or right hand drive. The mirror position suggests a coupe or roadster, and the steering wheel spokes make me think of my '58 MGA Coupe, which this is not. The shape of the speedometer suggests something more mundane than a 2-seater.

Seems that speedometer goes up to 140 - question is: miles or kilometer?

Starter knob is simply marked "Start", which in german or english means the same.

Maybe there is another hint in the photo if is an english car for the american market, an american car or maybe a german car?

Cheers, Andreas

A summary/confirmation of your so far "guessed" facts:

A Roadster. Speedometer goes up to "just" 130 - but if kilometer or miles/h, I´ll leave open at the moment. About it´s provenance I won´t go into any further details until you are just wild guessing ;)

Tip: The company held some good records with their cars. Time made: With 1950´s you are a bit late.

And here another shot (I had to delete the brand name, sorry).

The dashboard is a bit...obscure.

Expensive steering wheel, but tight. The speedo is in kilometres, I assume -lack of tachometer. Dashboard controls and door opener (in Phozoshp) are not looking british for me. The speedo bezel - lack of love. So: a small continental european roadster, owner does not care., DNA pre-war. Enough for an other estimate of guesses, Ronald?
