a.j.z Posted June 18, 2012 Share #3602 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Why did this take so long? It is the famous "Silberpfeil" W 196 R (I can't say anything about the Monza part) As ksmart has no photos available, whoever wants may post something. Here are some more photos of the Silberpfeil: Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Guest ksmart Posted June 18, 2012 Share #3604 Posted June 18, 2012 Just as far as I know: Monza is a high-speed-circuit, so Mercedes tried it with a streamline-outfit. But it made more weight for the car and more problems for the drivers (they were used to have the front-wheels in their view), so there have always been two versions. And I remember: Probably this car has been my first model-car, perhaps 1956/1957 in 1:43, from 'Maerklin', when I was six or seven. L. And now please continue! stuny Posted June 20, 2012 Share #3606 Posted June 20, 2012 This one shouldn't be too difficult, and I think it's faster than my first car, a well used 1958 MGA coupe: Welcome, dear visitor! Andreas.Pichler Posted June 21, 2012 Share #3608 Posted June 21, 2012 Okay, to make a starting point: Are we looking into an Le Mans Protoype Cockpit (LMP1), may a Panoz? Cheers, Andreas
