If our riddle has british ancestors, real "Aces" of a car, powered by BMW (better: BMWs Bristol brother), then this one was not known for an engine faster than the chassis.

So its maybe the americanized version reborn on a chicken farm (and maybe fed with the same steroids as the chicken) somewhere in the United States - Shelby Cobra?

Cheers, Andreas

Shelby Cobra wins-early model with 289 cu in engine. The car, and many like it, were at a recent reunion event that I attended in Pomona, California. Here is the full size image (shrunk to fit the site requirements).

Next....

Here we are...looks like an "Audi" but in those (!) times long ago, when sex was more safe than motor racing, our riddle has nothing to do with Volkswagen.

Please, name the car (non-MG)!

Best greetings to Mrs Peel - production car! And don't forget to compare those (!) days to today. Would in 1979 have somebody imaginded that in 2012 "MG" is a brand of a chinese company? And would have somebody expected in 1968...that...?

That was a good one, doesn´t it look strange today? Back in those days it seemed to be pretty modern to me ;-) Remember it was used as a fire fighter car on race tracks in a very bright signal orange color with fire extinguisher canon on the roof.
