I love it...weekend has started, sitting with a glass of white wine on the balcony, listening the birds and thinking about vino, veritas and so on...

But which one? I would go for the Vritas (sorry, the wine: Veritas!) Comet, RS has had a slightly different mask around the front grille...and its definitely not an Espada :-)

Cheers, Andreas

PS: Have to second Stuart, funny crop!

Right you are Andreas. I thought this one would take more time, but I can see that I am amongst aficionados. It is a 1949 Veritas Rennsport made by a small W. German company in the 1940's and 1950's from used BMW 328 parts at a time when BMW was still crawling out of the ashes of WWII and had just launched their BMW Isetta cribbed under license from the Italian company. It was up to Veritas to put Germany back into racing in both 2 liter sports class (the Rennsport) and formula 2 racing with rebuilt BMW engines in a tube frame covered with a lovely light weight body. The company lasted until the early 1950's. Go to Wikepedia or Google it. Interesting history.

Take it easy...and thanks for your very complete flashback. Only thing to add, if I am allowed to do this: After the bancrupty of the origninal Veritas Company, their founder Ernst Loof was able to save machines and materials and re-founded Veritas near the famous Nürburgring. First, to do performance tuning, but then to biuld some more Veritas cars.

Ja, and here are some regular Nürburgring visitors, so...

Never mind.

Here ist he next one (think in exhibitions puzzles, not in Espadas), and in the 70ies a egular visitor in front of "Hollywood Boulevard" shops:

Now its again up to you (ever thought about Espada?)!

Cheers, Andreas

It could stand in for a recent TV ad for Liberty Mutual.

Next car on the way as soon as I get my thinking cap on.

Andreas, is this ok?

Another hint. I deleted the name plate from the radiator grill. It was big, expensive and very quiet.

No, no, no and no. It was a production auto, but from a very small company. It was very expensive and even Howard Hughes owned one. Next photos.
