Rona!d Posted March 16, 2012 Share #3201 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) We are looking at the post WW2 period but the car never made it into production stage because of the man that was behind it died suddenly in 1949. Guys, before I check the next car (may become an easy one because of house renovation work), I have to tell you something (frightening) funny: I was BLIND for Gerd´s hints where he mentioned the 1949 death of the head behind this car. I was ONLY looking at the picture, man am I stupid! Luckily I could trust my photographic memory and had lot´s of fun p.s. French post war prototype cars are a real hard nut, so many interesting, stunning and sometimes just sick stuff the French made. Rona!d Posted March 17, 2012 Share #3206 Posted March 17, 2012 Extra points if you name the special version of that model and which body version it was.
jevidon Posted March 17, 2012 Share #3207 Posted March 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) From the fit and finish and general styling, I would guess it is an Audi, but I can't name either the year or model or body config..
Rona!d Posted March 17, 2012 Share #3208 Posted March 17, 2012 Don´t waste any time with thinking about which Audi this could be - completely wrong lane!

Andreas.Pichler Posted March 19, 2012 Share #3211 Posted March 19, 2012 ...would be a nice neighbour to my MGs, this Jaguar XKR-S Convertible (if I am right): - XKR-S because of tachometer up to 7.000 rpm, red line at 6.000 - Convertible because you can see the sky in the rear mirror (this was my wifes idea...) stuny Posted March 20, 2012 Share #3214 Posted March 20, 2012 Andreas - The flat, Nardi-like wheel suggests European and between 1954 and 1964.
Andreas.Pichler Posted March 20, 2012 Share #3215 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Stuart - yes, all right. But pay attention: these steering wheels have been very popular aftermarket accessories, as in "our" car. So the steering wheel has helped to identify time period and local focus - so dont bet too much on the steering wheel from now on. But there are enough other details around the cockpit... Andreas.Pichler Posted March 20, 2012 Share #3216 Posted March 20, 2012 Stuart, concerning the time frame - nearly perfect, maybe a bit tighter ;-)

Andreas.Pichler Posted March 21, 2012 Share #3218 Posted March 21, 2012 James, not a Lotus 7 - but a british sportscar. Cheers, Andreas
stuny Posted March 21, 2012 Share #3219 Posted March 21, 2012 Morgan?
Andreas.Pichler Posted March 21, 2012 Share #3220 Posted March 21, 2012 Sorry Stuart, not a Morgan. Our car was only available with 4-cylinder engines, but much more successful concerning sales than Morgan. Cheers, Andreas
