Advertisement Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hi Rona!d, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rona!d Posted February 17, 2012 Share #3002 Posted February 17, 2012 Oh my god - no comes a "two-by-two" inches crop made by Ronald of a Ford Mercury prototype sitting in a hut in Detroit since 45 years 6 months 24 days...and you have to identify it by this typical spiders web design ;-) Cheers, Andreas PS: Nice car you have had, Gibbo! PPS: Ronald - maybe 4x4? Not a Ford Mercury!
elansprint72 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Share #3003 Posted February 17, 2012 A People's Car maybe, but... am I one of those "smart arses"referred to by the thread-starter? So, sit back guys, post a carefully-considered photo which does not presume a correct answer on day one. If none of us guesses it.... let us stew for a while. Now Ron; I'm inclined to think that this a VW (or VW-based open-top car).

Rona!d Posted February 17, 2012 Share #3005 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) VW? Yes. Karmann Ghia? No. p.s. In my eyes this has the nicest dashboard designs of all VWs ever made. I really miss that. Edited February 17, 2012 by Rona|d

Andreas.Pichler Posted February 17, 2012 Share #3009 Posted February 17, 2012 It's a nice car! Personally, I prefer the "Variant" version a little bit more - a very elegant station wagon for this time. Cheers, Andreas
Rona!d Posted February 17, 2012 Share #3010 Posted February 17, 2012 Yes, today I'd prefer a Variant too, never liked the TL fastback though. Especially the old models like this one look nice with the old bumpers and lights. Had some of them. Would like to have this one as Variant, but hard to find in good shape.
