Stealth3kpl Posted April 29, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted April 29, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just wanted to end this thread saying that I'm really quite pleased with the M8.2 colours having got a little more used to lightroom 3 Beta 2. Please excuse the compression (and composition) of this test shot. Pete Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Hi Stealth3kpl, Take a look here Nikon vs Leica M8.2 Colour fidelity. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

rhom Posted April 30, 2010 Share #23 Posted April 30, 2010 Good Job, Pete! Nothing wrong with the color rendition in these two images that you posted. Bet that you weren't missing the extra 1.0 - 1.5 kg of your D700 setup when you shot these, either. I'm starting to get used to leaving my D700 home these days. Best, Rick
lct Posted April 30, 2010 Share #24 Posted April 30, 2010 Slightly OT, but I have a D700. I can't use NX2 because it's expired and it expects me to pay for it. If you don't pay for it, Nikon give you no software at all to process your RAW files, even when you've paid £1800 for the body... ViewNX is free, Andy. Works fine with with my Nikons. Never tried it with the D700 though. See: Nikon View NX - 1.5.
andybarton Posted April 30, 2010 Share #25 Posted April 30, 2010 View NX comes with the camera, but when I open a .neff file with that, it automatically opens NX2. The trial for that has expired, so closing that Quits both applications. Nikon UK were not at all helpful.
lct Posted April 30, 2010 Share #26 Posted April 30, 2010 Does NX2 open automatically with the online version of ViewNX as well? If so i would delete NX2 personally. I prefer C1 on noisy or very contrasty files but otherwise ViewNX is my favorite NEF converter.
Stealth3kpl Posted April 30, 2010 Author Share #27 Posted April 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good Job, Pete! Thanks, but the M8.2 and Lightroom did it really! I just reclaimed some highlights after changing the white bal slightly, and slightly upped the contrast. Bet that you weren't missing the extra 1.0 - 1.5 kg of your D700 setup when you shot these, either. Rick I'm planning a trip to Nepal and love the thought of carrying this instead of the D700 and my zeiss lenses. I'll see how confident I feel later in the year.
