Advertisement Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi PasMichiel, Take a look here M bayonet extension tubes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PasMichiel Posted March 30, 2010 Share #22 Posted March 30, 2010 There is also a boxed one in japan: http://www.ark-camera.co.jp/goods.php?pageNum=5&g1=05&g2=0500 for Y42,000 what is about 340 euro. Say what????
jaapv Posted March 30, 2010 Share #23 Posted March 30, 2010 Far to expensive. They have been sold at e-bay for prices between 100 and 150 Euro, or even USD, often including the adapter ring.
luigi bertolotti Posted March 30, 2010 Share #24 Posted March 30, 2010 Of course, the goggled macro adapter for the current 90 Macro-Elmar is essentially a revival of the SOMKY, and thus incorporates an extension tube. IIRC only the 90 ME can be mounted on it, though (upside down). Leica Camera AG - Photography - LEICA MACRO-ELMAR-M 90 mm f/4 Upside Down ? I don't think... how could it couple the RF ? jaapv Posted March 31, 2010 Share #29 Posted March 31, 2010 Thanks, John. I've put in a reasonable bid; let's see what happens.
k-hawinkler Posted April 15, 2010 Share #30 Posted April 15, 2010 I use rather a lot my SOMKY... and almost any "next to macro" pic of my gear that I posted here has been made with it : M8+SOMKY+UOORF+Summicron 50 head (without the UOORF ring you can mount only collapsible Elmars or Summicron) Is a pleasant combo to use. For which focal lengths does the above statement apply? 50 mm? 90 mm?

giordano Posted April 15, 2010 Share #32 Posted April 15, 2010 For which focal lengths does the above statement apply? 50 mm? 90 mm? The SOMKY only works with 50mm lenses. AFAIK they are the Summitar, collapsible Summicron and original f/2.8 Elmar, plus the lens head of the rigid Summicron via the UOORF.

AFAIK they are the Summitar, collapsible Summicron and original f/2.8 Elmar, plus the lens head of the rigid Summicron via the UOORF. John, Thanks. So the 50mm f/2.8 Elmar (1957-1974) should work, right? How about the 50mm f/2.8 Elmar (1994-2007)? Are there other 50mm f/2.8 Elmar lenses? I know there are older 50mm f/3.5 Elmars. K-H. giordano Posted April 18, 2010 Share #34 Posted April 18, 2010 John, Thanks. So the 50mm f/2.8 Elmar (1957-1974) should work, right? How about the 50mm f/2.8 Elmar (1994-2007)? Are there other 50mm f/2.8 Elmar lenses? I know there are older 50mm f/3.5 Elmars. There are only the two f/2.8 Elmars. I don't know for sure that the later one won't fit the SOMKY, but both the optics and the mount are different from the original and I've never heard of anyone doing it. k-hawinkler Posted April 18, 2010 Share #35 Posted April 18, 2010 John, Many thanks. I guess I'll find out if and when the lens I purchased arrives from Europe. Based on this article http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-sammler-historica/116514-welches-50er-objektiv.html#post1237063 I would be happy with either one. Cheers, K-H. luigi bertolotti Posted April 18, 2010 Share #36 Posted April 18, 2010 Oddly enough, it does. Maybe I've interpreted badly "upside-down" as "front lens towards the body"... you mean 180° rotated on its axis ?
tgray Posted April 19, 2010 Share #37 Posted April 19, 2010 Maybe I've interpreted badly "upside-down" as "front lens towards the body"... you mean 180° rotated on its axis ? Yes. Upside down as in rotated, not backwards. There is a second focal scale on the bottom of the lens that is exposed when mounted on the adapter. Presumably the focusing cam must have two different spots that the wheel hits.

Please Luigi how difficult is to separate the optical part of the one rigid 50mm Summicron ( sn 2268000-2995000 aprox. ) in order to be connected to UOORF unit .I am interested also in to complete my BOOWU M with M8.2. thanks

k-hawinkler Posted May 3, 2010 Share #40 Posted May 3, 2010 Jaap, Congratulations. Did your new acquisitions SOMKY or Elmar 3.5 need focus adjustment? Just wondering about those fairly old components. Thanks, K-H.
