The X1 is so simple a girl can use it!! (I kid, I kid. I have absorbed all my photography abilities from my sensei photog Hannah, but I like to tease ;) )

My friend snapped a photo of me at Wash Sq after hours.

What do you think? Not bad huh?

Here are some more JPEGs straight from the X1.

Let's keep spreading the LOVE.

Eddie,

I'm glad you love your X1. Having an affinity with your camera is paramount and I think that's an important ingredient in you taking great shots. The X1 is not for everybody but I trust it will serve you well.

Will, I completely agree. It's definitely about having the right camera for YOU and the X1 is working wonders for me :)

+1 but the days of thinking I'd order sight unseen are over. I won't consider it until I can hold one and take my own memory card to snap off some shots.

I couldn't agree more.

Go to a dealer, put it in my hands and get a feel for it, pop in an SD card, check out the AF, take as many as shots as possible at various ISOs to get something of an idea of what it's like...then take the card home, run it through Lightroom 3 (I have the beta version and it's simply incredible) and decide.

Peter and Edward, I definitely agree with you guys. I, too, was only lustful towards the camera until I actually had it in my hands.

From all the reading/pictures online, I fell in love with its sleek design, its specs and its Leica name. But when I had the camera in my hand and began to take photos with it, I fell in love with the camera it is and the pictures it took.

I sincerely hope you guys can get your hands on an X1 as soon as possible and try it out.

That's an excellent idea; but please don't be surprised if you do not become an instant expert with a new X1. You should get representative shots straight away; but great shots come a little later when you discover the 'sweet spots' and optimum settings for your type of work! I say this having read some previous instant judgments which led to hasty ill-considered conclusions.

Thanks David, I understand.

@Eddie it's back! You have some nice shots in there, I'd like to see a larger version of the MPD and painter ones.... as well as the contrasty b/w street scene. Do you have any large versions to share on flickr perhaps?

Hey Harry, great Flickr set. I especially love the one with the buses. Good stuff, nice to see you're enjoying the X1 :)

Thanks, I love this post (orange) cause I live in Orange County, California. ;)

@Edward - Not sure which photos you are referring to. But here is a link to all my X1 shots that are hosted online. Feel free to check them out.

Here is one of my first and favorite Leica X1 shots. Love that shallow depth of field.
