Advertisement Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Hi sparkie, Take a look here X1 is tempting, but i'll wait for the X2... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
GFONG Posted March 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2010 When X2 introduced, then wait for X3 because Leica did not put the manual focus ring in the lens.
Mark2 Posted March 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2010 I will wait for X4 it will come with Xray vision
krabat Posted March 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2010 When X2 introduced, then wait for X3 because Leica did not put the manual focus ring in the lens. Yes, and also aperture ring and the 28-90 mm zoom ring....
damnsharp Posted March 18, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2010 Indeed you can wait for the X2... but than you don't have the fun now with the X1 (but I can say this easily because I bought the X1)
jpmac55 Posted March 18, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 18, 2010 I will wait for X4 it will come with Xray vision X4? Why waste your money when the X5 will be released just several month's later in early 2014. I'm not sure of the enhancements but surely a few more than X1, X2, X3, X4. Panchen Lama Posted March 18, 2010 Share #7 Posted March 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I reckon the X6 will be THE ONE.
jsrockit Posted March 18, 2010 Share #8 Posted March 18, 2010 1. f2.02. black / black paint options 3. built-in VF of some sort - compact 4. Full IS TIA Leica As an X1 owner, these would be some of the same enhancements I'd like to see. By the time Leica makes an X2, which won't be anytime soon, they will be able to have a full frame version.
sparkie Posted March 18, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted March 18, 2010 yes good point jsrockit, in addition i'd like to see.. 5. FF sensor 6. vulcanite leatherette 7. No leica dot 8. Leica engraving on toplate By the time the X2/3 is released, Leica should have relocated back to Wetzlar
wda Posted March 18, 2010 Share #10 Posted March 18, 2010 1. f2.02. black / black paint options 3. built-in VF of some sort - compact 4. Full IS TIA Leica Sparkie, life is too short to vacillate. But I guess there are other factors why you choose not to invest now. One can wait forever for that elusive theoretical improvement, while continuing to use a box camera. krabat Posted March 18, 2010 Share #11 Posted March 18, 2010 Add a good EVF and a manually operated 28-90 mm/2.8 lens, and I will buy one, no matter, which name or number it will have. Although, with such specs it could be an improved Digilux 2... I personally do not need FF. FF is another level, and those who need FF, can buy an M9. IS? Well, nice to have, but only chip-based... jsrockit Posted March 18, 2010 Share #12 Posted March 18, 2010 FF is inevitable. It is just a matter of time.
peterb Posted March 18, 2010 Share #13 Posted March 18, 2010 I'd kinda like the X2 to have OnStar so they can tell me what pictures to take when I'm lost.
Krauthead Posted March 18, 2010 Share #14 Posted March 18, 2010 I'm enjoying life now with X1. Wondering what may come in the future is of little interest to me re Leica. I mean, why trouble yourself?

huzel Posted March 18, 2010 Share #16 Posted March 18, 2010 X2 will be 28mm X3 will be f:2 X4 will be 28 F:2 X4 will be 24mm or you can change the order, but at the end Leica will sell either an M9 or total Xs equal to the price of M9! enboe Posted March 19, 2010 Share #19 Posted March 19, 2010 I hear the X0 was a real dream. Compact, handy, always put a smile on a subject's face. (X0 is an old abbreviation for hugs and kisses from the days before emoticons)
jimleicam3 Posted March 19, 2010 Share #20 Posted March 19, 2010 Just spoke with my Leica dealer! If I put down $3500.00 USD, I can be first in line for the new X 7!! It should be available by November 2019, with the latest software already in place!! I can't wait. In the meantime I will continue to use my OM-1 that I purchased in 1978, no need to rush into a new camera I always say!.....The same thing was said about the M3.. why didn't it have???, the M8, why didn't it have??? the M9, why didn't it have??? If you have the $$$$, why not buy an X1? I hope to have mine in the next two weeks, and I really think with my Canon 20D,M3, M8 & X1, & my OM-1, if I can't take a photo that I like...it's my own fault!! Got to go, someone just told my about a machine that can mix drinks!! Oh, maybe I should wait to get one.....
