Advertisement (gone after registration)

First, I have say the Leica Dealer mess me! I am a Chinese student, September, I send email to ask something about M9, they told me will be in stock at March. So, I came here stay at UK, Till yesterday, I didn't get any message about M9, so I sent email.

 

Today, I got reddot's reply like that----It will be in stock at June/July. And Kingsley--will be the end of May. Out of stock in Robertwhite/leicamayfair/camera exchange.

 

The guy named dong_allen who told me he will sell a M9 to me, that made me cancel my order at other shop. But finally he told me he doesn't want to sell this camera! what a huge international joke!!

 

Where is my M9! I really need it. I can't stay at UK forever!

Who can tell me which store have M9 in stock?

Of course I don't know your particular circumstances so I am just going to take a wild guess; perhaps no one wants to help you because you are rude.

Or arrogant.

Or both.

 

Perhaps you will consider buying your ticket before your flight back to China, I would hate for you to be disappointed when you turn up demanding a ticket.

I think that there has been a misunderstanding; perhaps they meant that were you to order your M9 in September then you would have it in March. I am sure that you do not need to stay in England just to get your M9, they will be available in China or a dealer would send you one. I am sure that they did not wish to mislead you.

If you had actually ordered the M9 in September, you would have had it by now.

 

But if you just spoke to a dealer who expected to have stock in March, it would have been worth emailing them again when you were about to fly half way round the world to collect.

 

There are dealers in China and Hong Kong who could have supplied one, long before now if you'd ordered in September.

You must know that there are long waiting lists for this camera, Leica can't build them quick enough! If you cancelled a pre-order then you should call your local dealer and get back onto the waiting list.

 

They do crop up for sale even so - my local dealer had a 'spare' grey M9 for a few days. Have you tried phoning round all the UK dealers to find out?

It is not a good idea, btw, to put your e-mail in a forum. Unless, of course, you want to be offered tons of Viagra and tens of millions of dollars from Nigeria....

... or perhaps a brand new M9 at half the normal price (payable in advance to an offshore bank account, of course) :p

I think the " huge international joke" guy you are talking about is me, just 3 things I need to say here:

 

First, both of us agreed cancelling the transaction it wasn't just my decision;

Second, it's not the dealer cheating or playing you, it because leica doesn't produce enough M9s to feed the demand, so do some research before blaming;

Third, it's not right to say something that is not true to the public.

I would suggest you flying to HK. Then go the Hong Kong Leica Fan club "exchange equipment" forum to look for the offer. The price is around US$9k. When someone sells his / her M9, then you leave them your contact number. I think it is still cheaper than the cost you stay in UK to wait for the M9. I checked with my friend in Shanghai, he told me M9 is available in Shanghai, I'm wondering why you need to order from overseas.

Just another point of view, but I don't find be_sure's post rude.

 

He is clearly frustrated, and part of the frustration may be due to difficulties with English, both expressing himself and understanding what is said.

 

 

I think the best advice is indeed to call around. The cameras seem to be becoming a little more readily available, so the more dealers he can leave his name with, the better his chance of getting the camera soon.

 

And I wish him luck.

Please enlighten me, which one is not true? Did you know how exciting when I know you will sell this camera to me? I do not want to argue something here, I just want to say it's not cool, your behavior made me very disappoint. low credit.

But if you give them a call i am 100% sure the speak English, or even a simple e-mail. All is in the top part of the page, impossible to miss.
