Advertisement Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hi eleskin, Take a look here New M9 with marks in the gray paint. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 2, 2010 Share #42 Posted March 2, 2010 Just forget it, are you insane or what? Do you want to go through months of returns and histrionics because of some barely visible "spot" on the paint? Take an anti-depressant pill and count flowers on the wallpaper or something, God Forbid you should go out and take a few pictures instead of examining the paint with a microscope. Why on earth are you so obnoxious? Surely you could make your point without being nasty to people? Or are you in a psychological phase that you (mistakenly, I can assure you) think making personal attacks somehow makes you seem intelligent?
andybarton Posted March 2, 2010 Share #43 Posted March 2, 2010 I have asked (read, "told") M. Valdemar to take a month off from the forum. His continual rudeness to other members is not acceptable.
brill64 Posted March 2, 2010 Share #44 Posted March 2, 2010 I have asked (read, "told") M. Valdemar to take a month off from the forum. His continual rudeness to other members is not acceptable. i wouldn't say he is being rude, exactly. a little cynical maybe. the m9 is not without fault, we can mostly agree on that. it still has work to be done to make it a professional, usable tool. not everyone is able to accept that. m. valdemar's comments in the past have been of interest to me and are always consistent and literary. i think that's valuable to the forum as a whole. everyone has an off-day, even i have had my fingers rapped. whilst well within your powers to do so, i think it's a little unfair to banish him from the forum for a month:eek:
jaapv Posted March 2, 2010 Share #45 Posted March 2, 2010 Expressing his opinions is fine, but to wrap them in personal attacks and epitethets, like calling other members postmenopausal or retired neurotics etc. is utterly uncalled for imo. There are other, less puberal ways of getting one's opinion across.

I have been through his posts and there is a consistent rudeness and consistent use of personal attacks, which are not acceptable. If he were to post "consistent and literary" posts, without feeling the need to "consistently and literarily" be rude to people, that would be fine and welcome. This isn't about the M9, it's about helping to keep the forum a decent place for everyone to visit.
viramati Posted March 2, 2010 Share #47 Posted March 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm with Andy as I found his comments quite unprovoked and rude. Back om topic When I picked up my M9 in November I noticed within 1/2 an hour that it had some paint defects so I took it back and they changed it in a week. Now after 3 months of continual use it is scuffed and worn through to the brass on the corners. so my take is that original defects on the £5000 are unacceptable how it wears or how it looks after a few months is another question. Personally I would have prefers chrome but that's the way it is
lct Posted March 2, 2010 Share #48 Posted March 2, 2010 Well done Andy i don't mind childish behaviors being an old child myself but disrespect is uncalled for thanks to handle.
Guest mc_k Posted March 3, 2010 Share #49 Posted March 3, 2010 pretty small marks if viewed actual size. Maybe there is a "touch up" container of paint available from Leica.
wstotler Posted March 3, 2010 Share #50 Posted March 3, 2010 I have asked (read, "told") M. Valdemar to take a month off from the forum. His continual rudeness to other members is not acceptable. Simultaneously disappointing (I would find Valdemar's comments biting in an often humorous way) but understandable and the decision is supported--this isn't 4chan, after all. He'll be back, though. “For God’s sake! — quick! — quick! — put me to sleep — or, quick! — waken me! — quick! — I say to you that I am dead!“ -- The Facts in the Case of M.
