Another "real or fake" thread

For that price, it is intriguing as a nice toy... does some expert of WWII know if really existed a certain general named "Otto Hoffmann von Waldau" :) ? If so, the search for an original name is worth the price by itself... :D I appreciate that the seller writes that the camera is ENGRAVED Leica etc... and never declares too openly it IS a Leica... ;)

Besides, I wonder why he would have the same misspelling ("Hoffman" instead of "Hoffmann", if Wikipedia is correct) engraved on each one of his own Leicas.

 

He mistyped it on the sheet he gave his engraving shop. Also, they weren't aware of the mistake, being unable to read Roman script.

It seems a bit pricey for a fake...

 

Salut, tonton! Bien sûr que c'est un faux grossier. Le boîtier et l'objectif sont russes, et de plus il y a contradiction dans les gravures : Luftwaffen Eigentum (Aviation) ne peut évidemment pas co-exister avec W.H. ou Wehrmacht Heer (Armée de terre).

Le vendeur est également un joyeux drille en ce qui concerne l'orthographe!

Autre chose : depuis quand la Hesbaye est-elle bilingue? ayant quitté la Belgique pour le Portugal il y a 17 ans, je ne suis plus vraiment au courant...

@ Pecole: Oreye, d'ou je proviens est plutôt sur la "frontière" ;). Excellent choix, le Portugal!!

 

Donc, si je comprends bien, français ou flamand, c'est une question d'oreye...en sucre?:D:D
