Leica User Forum member Bo came down to meet me, and helped me with the take down. Later we had lunch. He took this environmental portrait of me with his M9, @1/8 of a second hand held! I took a less impressive informal shot of him during lunch. I got lots of great and wonderful feedback for the show, the cathedral setting was simply wonderful Thank you Bo! Welcome, dear visitor! Bo was kind enough to allow me to take a few shots with his M9. Here's one where I went for a sense of mystery in the PP. As I focused on the stained glass window of Moses on the upper right during the PP, I noticed he had an uncanny resemblance to Bo (albeit a bit more stern). Thanks to the high resolution of the M9, I could see this :-). The lens on the camera was the 50mm f/1.1 Nokton. A great piece of glass. Welcome, dear visitor! wilfredo Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted February 16, 2010 Thanks Bob and Stuart. Stuart, I would say it was a success in terms of bringing photography to a sacred space. This was the first time they ever had a photography exhibition, and the response from the public and faithful was better than anticipated. There is something special about seeing other than religious art in a sacred space, the veil of separation between the holy and the outside world seems to become even thinner. My show is being followed by an exhibition of paintings on the theme of Lent, all modern art work. This was a labor of love. Financially it was of no serious consequence, but it did what it was supposed to do, stir a few hearts, help people see the world through another optic, and help bring life outside the cathedral, into the cathedral, as in this shot of the graffiti which a few people commented reminded them of candles, and the Desmond Tutu bus stop.
