More and more fed-up with C1. Apart quitting every morning from XMas to Easter to XMas, now I try to import 290 pics from a card, and in the end of the process, it says it could'nt import anything due to a lack of space on the destination disk. Space available on the said-disk : 600 Gb ! Volume of the 290 pics : 5 Gb !

Some programs have a max data limit they'll import. Not sure if c1 has it but it may.

Johan--what do you mean by importing? Are you copying the files independently or are you letting C1 ingest them somehow (and add metadata or something?)

I'm asking because perhaps the location where C1 stores stuff is full or non-writable?

Just a wild shot... I don't know why you have such problems with C1! I never have these problems with C1!

Anyway, I thought you were using rawDeveloper? :D

Hello, Jamie, happy new year. :D

By importing, I mean clicking on the grey pointed down arrow in C1 menu bar,

then import the pics from a SD card.

The destination disk/file is perfectly available and uncluttered, with 560 Gb

of free space for a total of 750 Gb.

I had these problems of C1 quitting since inception (3.7), on 2 different machines.

And, yes, I use RD for pictures I really work on, and C1 for everyday use.

That said, Aperture 3 and LR3 are not bad either. ;)

{snipped}

Well, I never let C1 do that ;)

I use the card reader and do a simple copy (as ceflynn suggests), then open up the files in C1.

If your Mac won't do the copy due to "lack of disc space" then you know you've got a card reader or (gulp) a system problem; if it works, then all is well and you know C1 has a stupid bug with its copying program :)

That's a win/ win overall, no?

Happy New Year to you, too! BTW-- I like your new avatar; it's one of my favourite movies!

I'll do that from now on.

The Mac working flawlessly besides that, I presume this is a Phase One bug.

Not the only one though : I have C1 often quitting unexpectedly, and tried

several remedies with no avail.

This never happened with LR2 or LR3, without mentioning ;) RAWDev.

Using a card reader must be the 8th trumpet i guess. Just kidding Johan. ;)

Know the story of the king, the chessboard and grains of rice that prove in infinite numbers ?

Are pixels on a card in infinite numbers ? No. So any C1 should handle it

flawlessly. :D
