M7 is available with choice of magnification (0,58 - 0,72 - 0,85) :having M9 a single kind of VF, they are limited to 6 frames/focals ... 24 to 135 encompasses 7.

When you get an M7 with 0.58 magnification, does it show 24mm framelines? Or just make it easier for eyeglass-wearers to see the 28mm frame?

Succinctly put sir! :) and it's still frustrating that Leica in its wisdom refuses to recognise what a valuable lens the 135 A-T is on the M9!

I wouldn't say they refuse to recognise this - but they are only careful. I could imagine some threads in some forum complaning about the lens being "out of focus on large openings though it is spot on with smaller one's, I have to send it to Solms, why is QC so bad" etc etc., if they would not post a caveat about the lens.

Now you make it sound like you cannot use it without coding, Chris ;)
