carylwithay Posted January 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Catching this fellow is quite a chore. He does not like the flash so all I get is one shot and then I have to wait about 15 min for him to return. Sometines I wait hours to get a shot that works. One does learn patience as a photographerLOL Caryl

becker Posted January 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2010 unbelieveable series! looks a liitle bit like a fake, surreal. Is it normal these folks fly arround urban cities, skyscapers , searching for feed there ? excuse my english only from school, thats long ago. Regards Mat. carylwithay Posted January 18, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 18, 2010 We saw him fly by and then put up a feeder. Now he knows to come to eat. He comes several times an hour. I actually think there are two different birds that come but never at the same time. Someone told me they had a nest in a tree in the front of our building but I have not seen it. I can post one with the feeder showing but I like them better without it. Caryl
AlbertoDeRoma Posted January 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 18, 2010 Wow, this is even better than the other one. I like seeing the bird without the feeder, and the depth of field is just perfect - I love seeing the building. Brava! Alberto

AlbertoDeRoma Posted January 18, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 18, 2010 thank you so much, Alberto. I am having fun.Caryl It looks like fun. Speaking of fun, your pictures of the surf from last week inspired me to go to Half Moon Bay today - the storms should provide with some very interesting and cool (literally) photo ops. carylwithay Posted January 18, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted January 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Be careful of Devils Slide. We are in Pacifica. I had not thought of going to the ocean in all this rain but maybe, if you do, I will. Caryl
George James Posted January 18, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 18, 2010 Caryl, That's simply wonderful, and as Alberto says, even better than the ones before. George
Sailronin Posted January 18, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 18, 2010 Hi Caryl, This is a great shot, you do have patience to capture these hummingbirds. I used to live in Pacifica, on Monterey Rd, beautiful area....especially when the fog lifts for a few minutes. That section of coast is so stunning, we used to be in awe every time we crested the hill coming south out of the city.
carylwithay Posted January 18, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted January 18, 2010 Thank you George and Dave. Dave, we live pretty high up so we are above the fog usually and can see the ocean. Caryl
