carylwithay Posted January 10, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 10, 2010 Thank you Alberto. We were very surprised to see hummingbirds in the city and this high. So we bought the feeder and I have a book with bird calls. I play the hummingbird call and quite often one comes to have his picture taken. albert Posted January 11, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2010 I've really enjoyed your hummingbird series. I, too, was surprised at this urban lifestyle. We feed them at a lake cabin, Up-North, beginning in May. Is it harmful to electronically send-out their call ? Do you use the mating call ? Danger ? carylwithay Posted January 11, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted January 11, 2010 The book of bird calls is published by the Audubon Society so I would think it is safe for the birds. I do not know what kind of a call it is but the birds do come sometimes. Thank you for commenting Caryl

carylwithay Posted January 12, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted January 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you cirgil. This time we hung the feeder in the right location. I do not have to shoot through the window any more. I can open the door a few inches and just wait for the bird to fly by. Caryl
