35mm Chron on M8?

Closest thing you'll get to an equivalent of a 50mm 'standard' lens ... and it would sit nicely between your 24 & 90 for an almost ideal pairing :)

It's as good a lens on the M8 as it is on film/M9. I've used this lens extensively in the past as my single walkabout lens.

I don't think you can go wrong with the lens can you? I'm thinking of getting one too and everything I've read about all versions of this lens is really good. 47mm, sharp and small lens with a nice "bokeh" for the M8... how can we go wrong? (anyone?)

Please - Calling a Summicron a Cron is bad enough - but a "Chron" ?

Perhaps if you put a matchstick in the aperture ring at the focal point you could use it as a primitive timepiece when the sun is out :D A somewhat poor and expensive sundial perhaps.

But it's still a great lens whatever you call it. ;)

Summicron is German.. Based on the often used Leica prefix Summi and cron for Kron glass, which was first developed by Leica to be used in the original Summikron, soon changed to Summicron. To many Leica users the abbreviations Cron, Noct, Lux, Rit, etc. grate on the ear. And if they get distorted... Ah well, a lens is a lense...;)

Settled!... From now on we all call it a Kron! :p
