jsrockit Posted January 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 4, 2010 I just don't like the "SLR type" look to it. However, the more these type of cameras become common, the more they will differ in styles. A good thing all and all.
Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 4, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2010 Stmani, don't forget... 25mm front to sensor distance.. PLENTY room for a adapter for R and M lenses. This could be interesting.. wonder who is first with a full-frame version of this. .
rsolomon Posted January 4, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2010 it looks like image stabilzation is in the lens - not the body, is there a reason most manufacturers are doing this ? -- olympus seems to put it in the body but most others don't..... thanks Rich
Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 4, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Rich, My wild guess, nikon have a huge installed user base of un-stabalized lenses, putting this in the lens causes repeated sales. Olympus have everything to gain, and have been good about making the system work even with older lenses. Well, that is my guess anyway. .
Guest stnami Posted January 4, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 4, 2010 ..sure it is auto focus but that may suit some as long as it is responsive
Dan States Posted January 4, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 4, 2010 Focal plane shutter. Too big. Too ugly. No sale.

Guest stnami Posted January 4, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 4, 2010 IQ will probably save or sink this camera...
h00ligan Posted January 4, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 4, 2010 Sorry, it does nothing for me.. if i wanted that body i'd buy a new dslr - I sorta don't get the market niche on this one.... but then i held an ep2 and found it annoying to handle. Guest stnami Posted January 4, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 4, 2010 Won't be too long before Nik and Can join the chorus line
jsrockit Posted January 4, 2010 Share #14 Posted January 4, 2010 Won't be too long before Nik and Can join the chorus line I agree, I just don't hope they go for the "SLR type" look as well. I have a feeling Nikon may and Canon won't.
regedit Posted January 4, 2010 Share #15 Posted January 4, 2010 too bad they don't manage to keep pentax mount. I still have the 50mm 1.4 which will create good results on that. and it's a decent small factor too. too bad, wait for pentax to evolve the k-x line
jaapv Posted January 4, 2010 Share #16 Posted January 4, 2010 Stnami, I was just looking at this now, seems somewhat relevant also for R users.! . Not really. still a cropped sensor, too light and small to handle the lenses. The DMR, despite being cropped as well, still reigns.
Guest Posted January 4, 2010 Share #17 Posted January 4, 2010 Stmani, don't forget... 25mm front to sensor distance.. PLENTY room for a adapter for R and M lenses. This could be interesting.. wonder who is first with a full-frame version of this. . that's the remaining hope, after the disappointment, reading the reviews of the X1: X2 having an M-mount and... not a D300 sensor... but a... D700 sensor :) So the dials on top make sense: since every Leica lens has focus and aperture rings, the f:dial on the X1 could become ISO/exposure compensation. LEICA could sell more 135, 90 and 75 bringing out new expensive models for the bokeh fans, who never stop down anyway. (M9 batteries for it please, Dr. K.!) lct Posted January 4, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 4, 2010 Slimmer than the Pentax K-x but the latter is not bigger otherwise and has a .85x mag. optical VF. Why preferring Samsung then?
pappde Posted January 4, 2010 Share #19 Posted January 4, 2010 Is this the LEICA! forum?
ptu Posted January 4, 2010 Share #20 Posted January 4, 2010 Sorry, it does nothing for me.. if i wanted that body i'd buy a new dslr - I sorta don't get the market niche on this one.... but then i held an ep2 and found it annoying to handle. I guess the idea is small(ish) camera with big(ish) sensor in different variations. I just sold my bulky DSLR to get get a small(ish) camera with big sensor. Now I have placed a order for X1 but NX10 is a bad competitor but comes out too late for my needs. Plus Leica is Leica in my opinion. Cheers!
