Has M9 inspired you to sell M1-M8.2?

I have no interest what so ever of selling anything to purchase an M9. I will wait for the next incarnation. Still looking for better ISO performance. In addition I have no problem w/ the 1.3 crop. As a matter of fact I will probably pick up an additional 8 or 8.2 body.

I sold my two M8s and two MPs for my two M9s. I'm keeping my well-used M6s, but I don't really know why. There are no good labs in my city and I'm loving the prints I'm getting from the M9.

If it weren't for the UVIR filters, I may have kept an M8 for backup, but it would be too much of a pain to be constantly switching filters.

Never sell a Leica, you will regret it..;) Nevertheless, I am playing with the idea of selling one of my M8s, but then again, maybe not....

For a strange reason I`m into this religion, I try to give use to all my M bodies, I gave away my canons, my nikons, I would give away the sony any day, but this perfect jewels I keep them at least to play with and take pictures once in awile.

Sold M6TTL after getting M8. Sold M8 after getting M8.2 and realizing I rarely bring both bodies with me. Sold M8.2 after getting M9. Also sold two 3F's somewhere along the way. But will keep M3 and 3G with matching Leicavit 'forever".

Now the real question is what to do with R8 and R glasses which I have not used for year and half???

Bought M9 a week ago. Sold an MP to fund part of purchase. Kept three fine lenses and will never sell them. Not sorry to be done with film. It was increasingly becoming a hassle, logistically and financially, although the M9 was hardly cheap. Happy with new camera!

Sold the 5D2 to rationalize the FF M9 purchase. No regrets. After only a couple of weeks with the M9 I realize that my beloved M8u is getting no action and I will never use it again unless the M9 crashes. So, the M8u will soon be in the Bay and I'll use the money to buy (rationalize) glass.

Hey Jappv, I always listen to your reasoning, so why not sell your two M8's and put it into a second M9 backup? You shoot enough that if your M9 went down it would sure seem nice to have a backup.

I sold just about everything to pay for the M9 (said to be arriving this week) and an X!. This included an M6, M8.2, D700, Hexar AF, F100, F3, F4 ..... I have kept a little old Nikon for film (an FG) and will use the glass my wife uses on her Nikon DSLR.

I know I will be substantially restricted by my new kit. That is why I have taken this step.

You bet. I have an M8 late model black classic ready to go and will probably also de-accession an M8u which recently got a CLA and new sensor to replace a line of hot pixels. Both of these have little red tags saying that they have been to Solms for a timely blessing. I'll keep an M8.2 for use with longer lenses where the UV filter isn't a headache, but the allure of getting a second M9 and working only with those is too strong.

My M2 has been with me for many years and deserves to continue, although it is used mostly to show the kids how film works.

I have no rational answer, but I won't. Anyway the M8u is valueless anyway as it has my name engraved on it, and I keep it in the back of my car as a go-anywhere-take all-the-kicks camera and my M8 classic is the first M8 sold in the Netherlands, so I'm keeping it out of sentiment.

I find it very difficult to part with gear even when it's been clearly made redundant by what's followed, which is why I still have 2 M8u's, which feel really sorted and I still use, plus that one which has probably the lowest value of any working M8c and is paired with an ancient 50mm Summilux as my go-anywhere-take-all the-kicks camera.
