Leica MP, M3, IIIf and IId. (An M4-P on loan)

Pentax Spotmatic II

Rolleiflex 2.8GX

Arax 88 CM/SE

Pentax MX (2 bodies)

Right now, I'm using everything except for the Pentax MX's simply because I find the old Spotmatic more enjoyable. I use the Leica MP and M3 most of the time. Currently the M3 is being serviced and a friend was nice enough to lend me one of his M4-P's.

I only have one digital camera, a Panasonic LX-3. Over the last year, I've only shot around 50 frames with it.

Just found this site this afternoon, and joined immediately. Just what I am looking for. Have about 20 cameras - Minolta, Nikon, Canon; 1 Pentax; 1 Olympus; and medium format cameras. Use them all frequently, and in rotation.

BUT have acquired a Leica R5 with 35-70 lens in August, and after the first film through, I am now lusting after another Leica. Fancied an R4 but have been put off by comments about it on other sites. Then fancied an R7, but they are holding their price in the used market. I have now noticed that the R8 can be had at bargain prices, and am looking down that path.

R8 -"big and bulky", but I prefer a large camera, so it should suit me. Supposedly a minor fault on them was that they scratched film due to a plastic part fitted. Is that correct, or just another one-off, and nothing to worry about? One contributor on another site(a non Leica user) said he experienced the same problem with his Nikon, and it was due to dust, film particles on the pressure plate, and sounded identical to the supposed Leica problem.

Look forward to receing your views, comments, and feedback.

Nikon F2 Photomic/Action Finder

Nikomat FT bought cheaply and then jettisoned.

R3 MOT with motor. Belonged to a pro who took great care of it.

SL2 and Widelux need overhauls

I started digital about 5 years ago (use to shoot film 15years ago but not that serious)

Got a Canon 5D setup: 16-35, 24-70, 50,135, etc..

But I always wanted to go back to the basics an bought a Leicaflex SL with a Summicron 50 about a year ago... fall in love with b&w film.

Now I sold my SL and switched it for a M6 with 50 Summicron and Vöigtlander Nokton 35mm. (I'll switch that last one for the 35 Summicron when I get the chance;)

It's new world for me and I love the way the cameras feel and handle - when I use my 5D now I just can't get used of the "plastic" feeling an want to back to the M6 asap.

And the results are just fantastic - not as "clean" as digital but with so much more feeling and soul in the pictures.

I'm even thinking to sell all my Canon stuff and get a M9 instead. I will always have a digital setup but I don't think that I could go back and use only that - film is more personal to me.
