Guest stnami Posted December 3, 2009 Share #2 Â Posted December 3, 2009 Probably around but there may be no post process application that creates a decent image at this stage. Hence the jpegs as they processed in camera
pappde Posted December 3, 2009 Author Share #3 Â Posted December 3, 2009 Sean Reid used Phase One C5 and generic color scheme and it worked for him pretty well.
Guest stnami Posted December 3, 2009 Share #4 Â Posted December 3, 2009 I doubt if Leica really wants to be known for pretty good ahh that's close enough,I am sure Leica put some restrictions on reviewers and distributors due to firmware changes

lct Posted December 11, 2009 Share #11 Â Posted December 11, 2009 100% crops of the 400 iso DNG file referred to above. Default DR and sharpening settings of Capture One v4, contrast and white balance adjusted by a couple of clicks in iCorrect. Difficult to ask for more IMHO. jl4069 Posted December 11, 2009 Share #13 Â Posted December 11, 2009 SO why no comments by anyone? Â =-=BTW Does any1 know if leica put a very thin aa filter over the sensor? Or are these photos good mostly because of the lens? And if thats the case many will seriously have to start reconsidering the idea of ccd sensors being the only means to Leica Valhalla. j

Guest stnami Posted December 13, 2009 Share #16 Â Posted December 13, 2009 DSLR sensor type cameras produce great or comparable 400/800iso files so there is little to add........
jsrockit Posted December 13, 2009 Share #17 Â Posted December 13, 2009 DSLR sensor type cameras produce great or comparable 400/800iso files so there is little to add........ Â Except that this isn't a DSLR.
contaxgary Posted December 13, 2009 Share #18 Â Posted December 13, 2009 The camera is certainly capable of nice images and so is the GXR. I suspect it will be a good year for those of us waiting for a large sensor digital compact. You have to wonder how long the mirror based SLR will last. Guest stnami Posted December 14, 2009 Share #19 Â Posted December 14, 2009 Except that this isn't a DSLR. What is on show and open to comment is a image files/ IQ not types of cameras. On the net these images are comprable to other cameras with similar sensors
jsrockit Posted December 14, 2009 Share #20  Posted December 14, 2009 On the net these images are comprable to other cameras with similar sensors  and what are you expecting? Magic?  I know, I know, it's Leica and it is $2000. However, it is a bit premature to judge this camera yet based on mundane images made in a hasty manner for a quick review. We'll know more once people get to use it for weeks at a time in all different lighting situations.
