Guido Posted December 17, 2009 Share #103 Posted December 17, 2009 Can you please make sure the photographs are within the forum guidelines regarding size - both pixel dimensions and file size. So far I have received one or two images that are larger than 960 pixels on the longest size. I will resize these before creating the web pages that the judges will see. Sorry if this has been asked before - do the submissions need to conform to any specific aspect ratio? Two of my prospective submissions would be approx. 3:2 after scanning, but the third one would be square.
andybarton Posted December 17, 2009 Author Share #104 Posted December 17, 2009 No, so long as they conform the the 960 max pixels and 293 max kb

JHAG Posted December 20, 2009 Share #111 Posted December 20, 2009 Currently, we're moving house and office. I won't meet the deadline. Shall I be redeemed ?
thompsonkirk Posted December 21, 2009 Share #112 Posted December 21, 2009 Andy/Bill, I think you'd be wise to post something to all the forums about the deadline. It's a hard-to-find line, & some may not be aware of it or may not have remembered. Kirk
surfer dude Posted December 21, 2009 Share #113 Posted December 21, 2009 Many thanks Andy and Steve (sounds like the start of "Ballroom Blitz") for putting this together. Fantastic to do so in support of such a worthwhile organization. Best regards, Phil
stunsworth Posted December 21, 2009 Share #114 Posted December 21, 2009 Now up to £3,330 and 164 photographs received so far. It really is the season to be charitable! Thanks to everyone who has made a contribution so far - this is developing into a very worthwhile endeavour. Just under 4000 GBP raised and over 200 photographs received. Keep 'em coming folks. andybarton Posted December 23, 2009 Author Share #115 Posted December 23, 2009 One contributor has kept their name anonymous on both the public face of the JustGiving website, as well as the "behind the scenes" control panel system that only I can see. It is therefore impossible to tell who has made that particular contribution. If we don't know who is contributing, we cannot know that you have contributed. If you have donated anonymously, it is doubly important that you include the email confirmation from the website so that your contribution can be logged and cross-checked. Thanks With the Gift Aid contributions added, we are getting close to a £5,000 total. This really is excellent news.
octo Posted December 23, 2009 Share #116 Posted December 23, 2009 Just under 4000 GBP raised and over 200 photographs received. Keep 'em coming folks. Just managed to scan 5 prints, appointment tomorrow with a photoshop photographer (I have no computer tools) to try to beat the Dec 31st deadline. Thank God, just got the Leica Newsletter advising us that the deadline has been extended to Jan, 31st. Anyway, its the season of Hope, so I should be able to find 3 candidates among the 100s bookworthy ones:o Best of luck to the jury panel! And my very best wishes to all the people who are making this posssible, and also to all members of this Forum.
milsu Posted December 24, 2009 Share #117 Posted December 24, 2009 Hi. I have a proposal regarding the book format. I think square format would be more appropriate than the landscape. So that both landscape and portrait layout would be treated equal, and not to force people rotating the book 90 degrees for portrait. Thank you for this book project. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
pop Posted December 24, 2009 Share #118 Posted December 24, 2009 deadline has been extended to Jan, 31st. Are you quite sure? The terms at the beginning of this thread do not reflect any change in deadline.
